A better bet is likely the Classic Records DG reissue. Probably plays a lot better than most of those original copies out there still in existence.
I think I came close to an original once. A store I used to deal with (no longer in existence) listed a number of Blue Notes about to come into their possession. One was ‘True Blue’ with the BLP mono number. I asked for an immediate ‘hold’ on it of course but when the collection came in - no sign of it. That was the best part of 20 years ago, before the recent madness really took off.
It’s recommended - fine big band recording directed by Neil Ardley and with strong Gil Evans influence. See my comments on the other thread concerning sound - likely better than the original LP (which was in mono).
I saw Teddy Edwards in 1999 (non-playing, arm in a sling but leading his quartet) and for the only time playing in NYC, the year was either 2000 or 2001. It was a rare East Coast live appearance and he played great. John Hicks on piano.
‘Demon’s Dance’ needs a really good vinyl reissue. Near the top of my list.
Another great Jackie twofer from the Reissue Series now on deck.

I have both (all 3 if you also include the Mosaic) - and actually like the LP version of that session. Elvin’s polyrhythms come through very clearly.
Indeed it is. Hipnosis is a Tone Poet candidate I would think.
Going by what was in the doc, it will focus on the baroness more than the jazz I think, although Monk featured prominently in that prog as I recall. As I remember it, she moved from London to NY for a while in the 80s to stay with Nica for a period.
I saw her BBC documentary on this year’s ago and scanned the book around that time - the impression I got was that it didn’t add too much to what was in the programme but I may be wrong !
