  1. Yep, japanese style remastered: natural sound without tricks.
  2. i copied this to paste BEFORE i even got to the end of the thread-- nice call Porcy (tho' there are a # of points you might be objecting to). my question is, just who's paying tribute to whom here & who's rewarded? edc ozona, fla Right, if you look in a dictionary: you'll find: "to pay a tribute". Semantic's analysis imposes your questions.
  3. I wouldn't buy their set just for this sentence. I take it as personal insult to me and to everybody's interested in jazz.
  4. The foam/rubber suspension is the part that keep in place the tweeter and woofer and allow them to move, the air that re-create the sound. Since the suspension has to be enough elastic to allow a correct movement of the transducer/tweeter/woofer, it is made usually of foam or rubber, as you can image, both of these materials are not everlasting. But at this price and if they sound ...enjoy them.
  5. That should be THE PHILOSOPHY of every SACD/DVD/CD player, considering that even ORGANISSIMO is still recording in stereo.
  6. Yeah, dude! It's nice to have you around here again.
  7. What he said.
  8. Rubber suspension lasts much longer, but even rubber suspension suffered it, in my personal experience I had to replace the woofer of an old ESS louspeaker, and I mean the whole woofer, because it was cheaper then having replaced the rubber suspension only by a good technician. Obviously if you're a decent DIY'selfer you could try for yourself.
  9. Ubu, I don't want to frighten you, but consider that, a part catrdriges, loudspeakers are the most "wearable" component of the system. The foam suspension of the speakers, tweeters and woofers, tend to age, even w/o using them. So be very careful about used loudspeakers and check how the foam's suspension appears, otherwise you'd have to replace the components, and that it could cost you more then 30 euros, expecially if that particular component is discontinued from the factory, in that case you have to replace it on both speakers. I personally wouldn't buy used louspeakers without checking them personally, but yes, 30 euros...is tempting.
  10. an amazing sounding japanese first pressing
  11. What are the names of the detectives: Dino Spade and Saurs Harcher? I couldn't resist. Sorry. And the incipit: "I was neat, clean, shaved and sober, and I didn't care who knew it. I was everything the well-dressed private detective ought to be. I was calling on four million dollar's T-Rex."
  12. What's wrong with biographies? I just finished Ronnie O'Sullivan's autobio which I found quite entertaining. There's nothing wrong with biographies, I simply didn't find a smilie with six shooters and a neckerchief.
  13. They often choughed on it because of the dust.
  14. Fingerprints? You're still living in E.J. Hoover's era. DNA is the hot stuff now, don't you watch CSI?
  15. Correct. Obviously the general results could be a disaster or simply unapplicable. Consider only the huge amount of stuff that is going on internet in transactions between normal citizens. A strict law could kill it.
  16. What's wrong with the LP? it doesn't fit Ship it to me. it's so big, it won't fit on a ship I suspected it
  17. My bank's account is glad I didn't see it before the VPI.
  18. What's wrong with the LP? it doesn't fit Ship it to me.
  19. And made in Germany!!! When I bought the VPI, the german option was the outrageous expensive Clearaudio. I`ve owned a VPI and afther cleaning 10-12 records the spindle area became hot So I changed to the Clearaudio Matrix. Mine's working fine.
  20. Nice cover, anyway.
  21. What's wrong with the LP?
  22. And made in Germany!!! When I bought the VPI, the german option was the outrageous expensive Clearaudio. BTW, I always thought that RCM are outrageous expensive, if you think that a home vacuum cleaner usually costs around 100 euros. I mean, for the best german dishes machine, Miele, I spent 800 euros, and it's far more complex and heavy duty then any RCMs in the market.
  23. Okki Nokki for 360 euros? I just through 700 euros more in a VPI
  24. Miracle Disc Doctor's Record Cleaner and plain distilled water is my answer, and the Disc Doctor's brushes, with cheap replacement pads, are great, way ahead then VPI solution and brushes that comes with the machine. I never tested L'Art Du Son nor RRL. I am curious about this one: http://store.acousticsounds.com/browse_det...?Title_ID=14357 It seems a completely different stuff, anybody's Zyme?
  25. How does it work? Do they part the keyboard?
