  1. Complete Columbia Recordings.
  2. Actually Spanish Flu got the name from the fact that at times Spain had no censorship on newspapers because of neutrality in WWI so the first news about the flu came from Spain. There’s no consensus about its origins. Btw I haven’t any problem to name it from its origin, virus don’t care about politic nor politically correct, we do.
  3. John Dankworth in Joseph Losey's The Servant, he wrote the soundtrack too.
  4. Well, it's expensive like a NM original pressing of some titles.
  5. When I started my job as broadcasting video editor I managed lots of one inches ampex, because most of archival stuff was on that format, it was fun 35 years ago, unless you discovered that the head of the tape was too short to use the whole content. In videotapes degradation was a serious issue until they started to archive on D2, the first digital standard over here. I wouldn't find fun playing reels nowaday
  6. Not the "complete recordings", but it works for me.
  7. Don't know, but after three of four emails and the audio files, I got a free replacemet, though added to another shipping so they didn't pay the shipping, only the plain record. My first copy had a couple of tracks frankly unlistenable.
  8. I had some issues too with their reissues, not the box set, the single ones, got a replacement from Jazzmen after several emails, at first they pretended I send back the faulty copy at my expense, after some emails I sent an audio file with the problems and I got the replacement, not really the best customer service I experienced. BTW great music I am going to listen to it right now.
  9. Yes, actually I didn’t read the article so I probably misunderstood the thread
  10. in my direct experience of Japanese hi-fi I think they are looking for a relaxed and correct tone with no wow factor on bass or high definition. Love their stuff.
  11. On cables and cartridges I am a japanese cult follower
  12. I hate inflexibile cables. Had some of them at times I quickly changed with more handy stuff. Now listen to this, pretty good sounding LT series' record IMO.
  13. Sometime I dream the old times when I had a turntable, an integrated amp and a couple of small speakers. I am a zen guy that love the empty space and empty home.
  14. Unfortunately I have a jungle of interconnects power chords and speakers cables and not enough space on the back side on the system for bringing some order. It’s a problem even for cleaning.
  15. Guess Carla Bley would be an obviuos pick, speakin' of more recent times.
  16. Inspired by danasgoodstuff' opinion here I decided to listen to Mobley/Higgins partnership on BN. NY MONO.
  17. Probably Roy Eldrige. Edit: I guess I didn't get the question of the thread correctly, I play all records for pleasure only, I consider myself a "dionysiac" record collector. I would rename the volume knob "intensity of pleasure".
