  1. Tom Waits - Small Change - Asylum (with Shelly Manne, Jim Hughart and Lew Tabackin)
  2. An italian motorbike forum and some other places that have a very like dress code...
  3. Classic Record reissue I woke up this morning with a sunny California mood.
  4. Just found at the local shop the Angel box set of Schnabel playing Beethoven's sonatas, the booklet was missing, but the records were ultra mint and the price excellent, so I had to buy it. Now I am listening to them. The transfert is good, the music is just astounding. People were right, Schanbel is the Thing.
  5. I did it often in the past and I was satisfied. About the prices, they might be higher then others, but I always considered that his catalogue is usually big, so I could buy several records in one shot keeping shipping cost low, that would be impossible when chasing single cheaper record here and there. And his grading is pretty accurate, when I got some misgraded records, very fews, I simply shipped them back without hassle, or I had a discount on them. I'd say that Mr. Jeff Barr is a serious seller and a gentleman. Reccomended.
  6. Haydn, some late symphonies, Karajan, DG. It was in the 84/85, probably. I bought Philips CD100 as well, the first cd player on the market. Cds were the easy way for long time, when I moved home twice in a years. Now I have a real house and a good TT, too damn heavy for moving
  7. Tchaikowsky - Violin Concerto in D - Haifetz/Reiner, RCA, mono. What a magnificient "easy listening" composer Tchaikowsky was!
  8. Giorgio Gaslini Quartetto - Murales - I dischi della quercia
  9. Gerry Mulligan with the Dave Brubeck Trio - Live at the Berlin Philharmonie - Columbia edit: WOW! got this one from a friend who cleaned the house, I'd never consider BUY such record, but it's really excellent.
  10. Now spinnin' Red Garland - Soul Junction - Prestige.
  11. Free - Tons of Sobs - Island. Still one of my fave of blues-brit-rock.
  12. I digitize my vinyl with Mac laptop using the internal audio board, not the best one out there, but it works for my needs. Not sure that a 100 buck combo would be better then a decent playback analog rig (TT, tonearm, cartridge, phono preamp) and the cheap mac audio board.
  13. John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
  14. Mosaic Teddy Wilson Verve trios.
  15. Our PM started his career as entertainer/chansonnier on cruise liners, unfortunately he wasn't on Titanic.
  16. John Coltrane - Standard Coltrane - Prestige, Analogue reissue.
  17. I am surprise he didn't sing "Back In Ussr" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWo7FJsU4Z8
  18. John Coltrane - Soultrane - Prestige, Analogue reissue.
  19. Thanks!
  20. Had the Prestige been reissued on vinyl? Japan, OJC, any?
  21. I have a couple of Beatles original first pressings, that I payed definitely too much, some Mosaic payed a lot, and a fair amount of BN and Prestige bought just before they became prohibitive. And the Ellington Centennial box set, the main reason because I still own a cd player.
  22. Nice thread guys, now if you PM me your address and when you'll be out for holiday, would be perfect!
  23. Wayne Shorter - Night Dreamer - BN, Music Matters reissue.
  24. Paul Chambers - Paul Chambers Quintet - BN, Music Matters reissue. I hate to admit that, but these expensive 45rpm reissues sounds marvellous!
