  1. Make it a great one. Happy birthday.
  2. He had a great long life. RIP.
  3. I'd like to know the backstory on that one (even if I suspect more than a little tongue-in-cheekiness). Toronto's got a decent jazz radio station and a fine performance scene. Thanks for sharing. My wife will enjoy it. Umm - Photoshop. Not that it isn't funny. Now that you mentioned photoshop, a closer look you can see that's probably what was done.
  4. Wow, I've been to Toronto before, but I never knew jazz wasn't allowed in the parks.
  5. No one other than the club owners are getting paid. This was discussed sometime last year in a thread. There should be something that will go to the musicians. I don't want to sound like a righteous saint, who I'm not, but until the artists get something, I won't join. It's only fair.
  6. I just listend to Coltrane doing this Easy to Remember, although done completely different, it sounds close. Now I am listening to Renee Rosnes playing this with Marian McPartland, and it sounds like the Coleman version, so it is "It's Easy to Remember." Thanks.
  7. Really? Damn, I don't hear that tune. I need to listen to other versions.
  8. This is the George Coleman Quartet. The tune that it sounds like, but I am not possitive is “I want to talk about you." Anyone here who could help? http://www.sendspace.com/file/st1gmy
  9. I remember this fro 1977. This was the year I became a fan of Jazz. Pioneer
  10. This is great that Google is trying to save all languages around the globe. In America there are so many indigenous languages on the verge of become extinct. You would be surprised just about every country has at least one language fading out of existence. Website
  11. Now I know who AC/DC was singing about with their sone "Big Balls."
  12. Thanks Chuck.
  13. Any idea who this is? He is playing with Stan Getz.

    Kenny Barron

Happy birthday Kenny. Many many more.
  15. All the best Sunny. We need you around.
  16. A little late, but can I get the download link?
  17. I found this just now. Live Woody Shaw at Fat Tuesday's the 10th of April, 1980. I wish I would have seen Woody Shaw live. I was listening to jazz back in 1980, but never got around to see hime live. website
  18. I don't remeber the website, but I was reading online, that the Duke Pearson's "Sweet Honey Bee" on CD came from a viynl record. The master tapes were lost. I have both the Rare Groove and RVG issue of this, and I can't tell that it came from viynl. Does anyone if this is true?
  19. I couldn't have said any better.
  20. It was a real good set. This was the first time the three played together and it didn't show. Maybe there is some rehearsal before the real gigs and that's why it was very smooth.
  21. I caught the first set at the Jazz Standard Friday. I was surprised that this was the first time Hersch and Holland have played together. This band is there tomorrow also.
  22. Hope it was a great day.
