  3. You might get a response. He answered an E-Mail I sent regarding The Evans Keynote sessions some while ago. What did you ask about the Keystone shows? Just curious.
  4. He runs Dizzy's Club Coca Cola now. I don't know if I should ask him what exists and are there any plans of getting the music out to the masses, that is if the artists or estates agree.
  5. I did get this one. Damn, I forgot to unwrap it and listen to it.
  6. The owner of the Keystone Korner Todd Barkan use to record the shows at his club without permission of the musicians. Many of the recordings were lost when he had a fire. I came across one and wondered if there were more. Anyone know more about Todd Barkan's recordings. The one I found was Sonny Rollins from 73.
  7. I would hope it was live, but it sure looks like he is plying along to the record. At the end the music fades, which leads me to believe it isn't live. It must have been real hard for a ture jazz player to crossover. I know it's all about the mighty $. There is no mistaking that Wes is live here. He makes seems so damn easy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEayXTdRsEc&feature=related
  8. Rest in peace Clarence.
  9. Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery.
  10. I was able to hear it while it was being recorded, I wne to 4 sets at Birdland. It is worth getting. If I recall there a few sets recorded. I wonder which set was used for the CD.

  16. In this month's Jazz Times Sonny Rollins takes a blind fold test. Sorry I don't have it to post here, but if someone does have a link to the test, do post it. I don't want to give any of his answers away.
  17. I do hope all is well with Lee. Last year I asked him to sign an album. He looked at the album and asked me if I was really a fan. I said why, his reply was, the album was in too good a shape, as if it never was played before. "Come on now, fess up." He always has quick humor.
  18. My contact tells me that the out-of-tune portion of Sentimental Mood is not included. That's good to know.

  22. My one concern, "In a Sentimental Mood" from the Beacon, Jim Hall's guitar was out of tune and the first 30 seconds were spent with Jim Hall tunning and Sonny Playing Chopin's funeral march, why include this?
  23. The Beacon show is worth this alone. Sonny and Ornette, a once in a life time teaming up of these two greats.
