  1. I plan on using the electric piano till I get it to my house and then tuned.
  2. I have firewworks. I have to play with it tonight.
  3. You might have mentioned this, but what software are you using to animate your avatars?
  4. I also think of Bird with Laura.
  5. Does it matter if my daughter starts on one of those electric keyboards or should I wait to start her until my piano gets tuned?
  6. Going to be there in the beginning of May on business. Are there any jazz clubs I can hit when there?
  7. Here's JC reason for being down. Well, I tell ya. We have upgraded our bulletin board software to the next iteration, vBulletin 3.0. The problem, as such, is that vBulletin's old styles, such as my beloved Zolo, don't work with the latest upgrade. Yet. I am in the process of figuring out what changes need to be made so that we can all get our individual styles back. In the meantime, keep cool with vBulletin's new style for 3.0. For more discussion and information about vBulletin 3.0, check the"vBulletin 3.0" thread in The Alley. Thanks, Moné
  8. I remember him and his band in Blazing Saddles doing this number.
  9. What's with hitting jazz/fourm sites? It's not like their Yahoo, Amazon or some of the other big guys.
  10. Rock- Chicago 1976 Jazz- Count Basie 1980
  11. Pokka dots and Moonbeams always remind me of Bud Powell’s version.
  12. "The Girl from Ipamena" always reminds me of the Stan Getz's version.
  13. Which standards do you identify with a particular artist? Whenever I hear All the things you are or play it in my head, I right away think of Bird. Autumn Leaves I think and hear of Cannonball and Miles.
  14. Are any of his recordings on his label Silveto available today? I know that Rockin' With Rachmaninoff was issued and was recorded back in the 80's when he was on his own label. I'm trying to find "Music to Ease Your Disease".
  15. Sorry for your loss. Been through it myself and it takes sometime.
  16. I have to add Joe Goldberg to the top of my list. Good notes on Mobley's Soul Station and Coltrane's Lush Life.
  17. I got out of the deal. In the listing the shipping charges were in the description section and not the shipping area. I contacted eBay via email and they replied once a bid is made the price and shipping can’t be changed. But you can change the description part. I emailed the seller and asked him what the deal was about changing the shipping cost. He let me out with no problems.
  18. Are there any new exciting guitar playes out there play jazz?
  19. Carl, I see Here we come on dustygrooves web site. Maybe it only arrived recently, but it's there now. Bottoms up is also a great record.
  20. Does your avatar say something about yourself?
  21. Wow, I thought I only did this. I use to go to tower records on 66 street and Bbroadway for lunch about 6 or 7 years ago. It got to a point where all the clerks in the jazz section new my name and what I usually bought. One time when I walked in, one of the clerks came up to me with 2 CDs in his hand and said, "I pulled these aside for you when they came in today. I know you're going to want them". That's when I realized I spent too much time buying CD's.
  22. Is it safe to say your not married?
  23. Step 1: Admit you buy too many CD's. never step 2 : step 3 : step 4: step 5: step 6: step 7: step 8: step 9: step 10: step 11: step 12: How can you tell if you but too many CD's and records? I've only bought 7 for the month of March. And yes, March has 31 days making it one of the longer months. Now February I just bought 4. Not a problem in my opinion.
  24. Where a new reissue of a CD comes out, do you upgrade to it, or do you stick with what you have? I have done this with Duke Pearson's the Sweet Honey Bee, and I like the sound better then the rare grooves release of the session. I'm debateing wheather to do this with Grant Greens Green Street. I heard it sound so much better then the Conn.
