How many more in the Conns series do they plan? Outside of the next batch which will be Horace Silver's "United States of Mind", what would they still want to put out in this series? Most of the stuff is being done in the RVG series, and at least for myself, I already own most of Blue Note session on CD's from earlier releases. Ebay will be the way to go. Buy those used CD's. Will they also copy protect Mosaics? God, I hope not!

What do you think of this guy's singing? He appears on a number of Horace Silver sessions in the 70's and 80's. I never got into the Silver albums that were with voices. But as a solo artists, I find he has a nice voice. Plus, there are not that many guys on the scene today that sing, at least to my knowledge.

Going to have to check this one out. Damn, there's just too much shit I want to get.

Carl, since you picked up Out of this World, can you tell me how many bonus tracks on your the newer TOCJ? I have an older TOCJ and there are no bonus tracks. Allmusic lists the 2003 reissue with bonus tracks.

The only non Blue Note records of the three sounds I've heard were Blue Genes , Some like it Modern and Todays Sounds. It appears from those 3 records that they lost some of their pizzazz they had while with Blue Note the first time. When they came back to Blue Note in 1966 they never regained that magic. Does anyone else feels this way too?

I plan on using the electric piano till I get it to my house and then tuned.

Here's JC reason for being down. Well, I tell ya. We have upgraded our bulletin board software to the next iteration, vBulletin 3.0. The problem, as such, is that vBulletin's old styles, such as my beloved Zolo, don't work with the latest upgrade. Yet. I am in the process of figuring out what changes need to be made so that we can all get our individual styles back. In the meantime, keep cool with vBulletin's new style for 3.0. Which standards do you identify with a particular artist? Whenever I hear All the things you are or play it in my head, I right away think of Bird. Autumn Leaves I think and hear of Cannonball and Miles.
