  1. My Uncle in Madison says the same thing
  2. The owner's wife told me to go....she stood about 4' 10" and told me in broken English, "You go now !" I figured I could take her, but the cooks were staring at me, too. They were a bit larger than she was. Think middle linebacker. Back then I was only eating one meal a day and at 6' 2" I could hide behind flagpoles. I left.
  3. You know....these future "experts" also told us back in the 60s that there would be no more cars and we'd all be flying around in rocket propelled spacecrafts of one form or another. That didn't happen either.
  4. In my Neck o'the Woods it's cloudy [big storm coming] and in the low 40s. Gotta get those Christmas lights down before this afternoon.....
  5. My MIL lives in Concord, NC and said the cold reminds her why she moved from Connecticut. My Aunt in Madison, WI said it got way up to 15 degrees yesterday.....could be worse, MoGrubb
  6. Cool. Rain tomorrow...or so we are told.
  7. Never been banned....but I was asked to leave once. Back when I didn't have two nickels to rub together, I used to arrive early then leave late at a local Mongolian BBQ-all you can eat establishment.
  8. No guarantees the Cowboys will get to the NFC title game for sure. Especially with how they've played the last 3-4 games. But, if you actually watched the Packers/Cowboys game, you'll know that Favre played terribly while he was in, and the Packers only responded and turned it into a game after he left with his injury. Rodgers played exceptionally well for someone with as little playing time as he had. Case of rallying around the backup or something. Favre played terribly in large part because the Packers (for heaven knows what reason) strayed from what had been working for them all year offensively and continually tried to go deep against the Cowboys. Collinsworth noted as much. Once Brett got hurt, Aaron Rodgers came in and the Packers returned to what had been working so well all season: 4 and 5 wide receiver sets utilizing short, quick, slant routes. Before that game was played, I firmly believed that anything other than a blowout would provide little insight as to how a playoff meeting between the Packers and Cowboys might play out. The Packers were driving and down by less than a touchdown in the fourth quarter before eventually losing by 10 points. And, yes, injuries are part of the game, but the Packers were without two key defensive starters (KGB and Woodson, who, despite the accolades given to Harris, is THE lockdown corner for the Pack) as well as a promising young safety who could be starting in Aaron Rouse. Still, I have to admit that Brett's 0-9 (?) record against the Cowboys in Texas is more than a little troubling. Perhaps, though, it only means that Brett will lead the Packers over the Cowboys should the teams meet in the NFC Championship. Neither team should be looking past the next round, however. I remember the Niners had the same run of bad luck against the Ca'boyz....until "The Catch". I'm not worried
  9. I gotta gal truck in Kalamazoo.

  11. Assuming, of course, Bonds lied under oath.
  12. Good. Now go Pack! The Pack just might be favorites to reach the Super Bowl. Favre still has to learn how to win in Dallas first. Um. Aren't we assuming an awful lot here? The Ca'boyz still have to get to the NFC Championship game. Besides, Favre didn't play past the 1st quarter the last time they met.
  13. Oh, Montana had plenty of other weapons, too. John Taylor Dwight Clark Roger Craig Freddie Solomon Among many others.... Rice is the best no matter who threw to him [Jeff Kemp and Steve Young will attest] Man, can't sneak anything past you guys. Of Course Rice was the smoothest, slickest, most confident and most capable receiver ever. Rice raised the bar for all receivers. Just trying to give Moss his props!! Fair enough. Randy Moss is talented...but he sure as hell ain't no Jerry Rice. THE Best, all-time:

  15. Think the Pats will be able to afford Moss after this year? I don't know enough about their cap situation to say one way or the other, but it seems questionable, especially if the club wins the Super Bowl. [Disclaimer: I don't know for sure that Moss signed a one-year contract, but have been under that impression.] Moss has a one year contract only. Fans and local media believe he'll stick around and sign a 3-4 year contract. Their cap situation is always solid, but they'll have to adjust or let go a player or two to accommodate Moss. Donte Stallworth, for example, is likely to be let go. Rosey Colvin and a couple of other players will have to restructure their contracts, as Colvin's leaps to $8 mil for 2008. Junior Seau is likely to retire. Not sure about Bruschi. Rodney shoud stick around for another year. Asante Samuel might want too much money, so he's likely to depart. He currently has a 1-year franchise tag for $7+ mil. If he gets a contract, it would be more cap friendly. The Pats can definitely pay Moss. The question is whether he'll take a small pay cut over his full value in exchange for staying with a winning team and terrific quarterback. If he does stay, he'll make a run at the receiver records. Not that it is a mystery....but Randy Moss does have a history with big-headedness. His atttude might get in the way. So again: We will see.

  18. It was a great game to watch [even though Chris Collingsworth has become a real jerk to listen too]...both teams were fired-up! But, I have to say as a dyed-in-the-wool 49er's fan, Jerry Rice got his record in 12 games. Moss in 16. Rice is still the best, IMO.
