Exactly. OTOH, if I start feeling a little cocky I just go out for a round and the game will straighten me out in one quick hurry. But, TBH, I want to score well so I grind at my game a little....OK, a lot. However, at my age I know my limitations and I just don't take it so seriously any more. Unless, of course, I hit 100+ then I get a little frustrated with my game.

Bogey golf is still 90. I'll take that any day of the week! BTW, the ultimate quote that still sums up my game? "It takes a lot of balls to play golf like I do." You're right a 90 isn't such a bad score. But the funny thing about golf is it makes you greedy. You get a bogey, you wnat that par. You hit a 90 you want that 85, etc. At one point, I even tried my hand at coaching golf when my son was on the HS team. I was real good at helping the guys with escape shots, sand shots, grip and pacing but when it comes to doing all that with a club in my hands, all bets are off. Luckily, I don't lose too many golf balls unless I'm on a really tough course with lots of water or plant/tree-filled rough. My "home" course is generally a user friendly muni unless I pull one OB. The good news is after 30+ years I still love the game.

The Giants will continue to be a force with defense and pitching though I do worry about a less-than-stellar bull pen. Kontos and Casilla in particular. They will still hit for average, preferring little ball over HRs. As always, winning the NL West will be a struggle against the usual suspects: Dodgers, D'Backs and Rocks. BTW...Cain looked pretty sharp with six shutout innings yesterday. Sadly, Kontos and Casilla didn't. Yeah, I'd say the Angels are a legit contender for the World Series this year.

Trust me. The AL West is very competitive, this is true, but the leaders change frequently. I really think Houston has a fighting chance.

I dunno, Aggie. Unless the A's have another comeback miracle season like last year, the 'Stros could end up no worse than 3rd in the AL West. The power is with the Angels. The pitching with the Rangers. Seattle won't be much of a factor. A's will continue to struggle putting up the numbers. And your guys are a clear 3rd in my mind...maybe even better. You just never know with the AL West.

Happy New Year, everyone! Baseball is BACK! If that happens, I think Lincecum needs to go into the pen as the Giants' set-up man to Romo. That would be one deadly combo if you ask me.

That's where Willie Mays made the famous 'Vic Wertz' catch, a HR in any ballpark today. Yeah, but he caught it. That is an amazing feat especially with that much ground to cover. You did READ the post of mine that you quoted, where I said the 'Vic Wertz CATCH'? Yes, I did. I was also referring to the 477 comment.

Thunder and lightening early this morning [2-3AM]...a beautiful day afterward. It was a wonderful day.

Golfer here. My son [whom I taught the basics when he was 6 years-old] is a 10 handicapper when he plays on a regular basis. I paid for lessons so he would learn the game better than I could show him. He was a four year Varsity golfer in HS. Me? I hit anything from an 85-95 and all points in between. Self-taught. I never took a lesson....and it shows. At 58 with a nagging back and bad knees I do my best to play bogey golf anymore. My game is scramble golf....I play a lot of "hit it and hope" but I love the game

Posey is the franchise. I have no problem with what they gave him.

Today's forecast Maybe it will rain and then again, maybe it won't. Congressional weather.
-
Well, take heart: Maybe the AL will be a kinder, gentler place for the 'Stros.

He would still have to pay those high USPS overseas rates. True. But the good news is the re-issues would come to him in the CD format. He said he wasn't legally allowed to buy them where he is. Oh sorry, you were responding to my post about HD Tracks? Those are 192khz 24 bit FLAC files, remastered by Alan Yoshida who also did the Audio Wave xrcd24 series. This kind of situation involving downloads is my nightmare for the future. There are some interesting titles like Out To Lunch, Speak No Evil, and Unity. Thanks for the correction, Erwbol. Best of luck on that one...those are some great recordings. Gotcha. What puzzles me is why so expensive for the physical copies? I mean, from a consumer's stand point, it just seems like add huge postage fees is just insult to injury. Then, by transference, we pay more.

Jim, Have you considered just going digital for overseas sales? I'm certainly no expert on this, but I know of at least two musicians who sell their music directly from a digital source which the customer can download to his/her computer. This, I would think, might eliminate the postage issue altogether. Just my two cents... And what about those who live overseas and might be interested in the music but don't do downloads? Well, TBH, that seems to be the wave of the future, I'm afraid. Based upon my experience, you can also download cover art [if there is any] and then burn the mp3 to CDR. I know of one gal who does this because for her band, it is just too costly to order the CDs in the first place. So she and her band [square Fish] went digital almost exclusively. And me, too.

Either way, the Raiders got their long past due comeuppance.
-
Well, if I may, the Raiders just had a little get back for all the rules they have stretched over the years: Remember the Stick-Um all over Mike Haynes uniform? That messed over a lot of teams. How about that "Holy Roller" play against the Chargers? That "Immaculate Deception" lost the game for the Chargers.. Jack "the Assasin" Tatum and his brutal helmet-to-helmet hits one which paralyzed a guy? I mean, the Raiders must be responsible for half the rule changes in the NFL rule book. No. I cry no tears for the tuck rule vs the Patriots. The Raiders just got a little pay back is all.
