Friday: Cain chokes up three [count 'em], THREE HRs, fer crissakes! Giants lose. Saturday: Barry "Headcase" Zito walks in not one, but TWO runs...in October? How is that even possible? I can't WAIT until his contract is up. He's worthless. Giants lose. Sunday: Latos, the Padres stud muffin, is on the mound. The Giants will crap out on this one, too. You watch. Giants lose again. Monday: Tie-breaker, and in San Diego. Perfect. Just shoot me now. Go Phillies, goddamit! They are the Giants only hope to make it in as the NL Wildcard. To say I am pissed would be a GROSS understatement. All that work for nothing. GRRRRRR!!!

El Dorado with John Wayne. A classic. -
Fuck the Tour de Farce.

I lost all faith in the guy right after that tie in the All-Star game a few seasons back. He sucked as an owner, too.

If only the Padres would just die and go away. What the hell is going on with the Reds all of a sudden?

I dunno. The Phillies have some pretty loud bats in the line-up. I mean, that team is stacked. As to the Giants pitching staff: Bumgarner is looking pretty sharp, as well. It's the bullpen I worry about. They have a "maybe he will, maybe he won't" closer in Wilson and they've had some some pretty scary meltdowns via the middle relief this season, too. So we wait and see. Yeah, the Giants are the only team right now that I'm worried about in the NL. 3 of their top 4 starting pitchers are lefties and vs. the lefty heavy lineup of the Phillies that ain't good. Of the 4, Sanchez scares me the most. Hopefully if they do meet up it will be in a 7 game series not 5 because those could be some great, nay, EPIC pitching match ups. How about them Fightin's??? Oswalt, w/ a little help from Madson & Lidge, tosses a 1 hit shut out to complete a sweep of the Braves. Oswalt's ERA w/ the Phillies is now 1.76. 6 up w/ 9 to play. Magic number is 4. I'm taking my 6yr old son to the game on Saturday night. It will be his first game. How cool, Dad! I took my son to his first game when he was five and the Giants were still in Candlestick Park. Hope it's a great game for you two. I agree. A seven game series between these two teams would be fun to watch....a nail biter, but still has potential. What scares me is the lack of run production on the Giants squad. They've been running hot and cold all season while the Phillies have been fairly consitant at the plate. But first things first: Win the NL West.

How do I get rid of that insipid tool bar "Bing"? Same way? -
I really hope you're referring to the baseball team Yes. Yes I am.

Seahawks got waxed.

My Gigantes are back in 1st place!
-
Personally, I can't get excited about football until late October. Unless, of course, the Yankees are in the WS. Then it'll start sooner for me.
-
Nah. Alex Smith is just that bad. Niners aren't going anywhere with him as their QB.

As a lifetime Dodger hater, I don't feel any loss for the ownership....but I do agree with O'Malley: The McCourts need to sell the team. If for no other reason than for the sake of baseball. Then they need to find fans who will actually show up to the games. Those Freeway Fans they have now show up in the 5th inning then leave in the 8th. That stadium should be packed during Giants vs. Dodgers games. But they aren't. Same goes for other marquee games. The seats behind HP, for example, are always empty or half full. It's pathetic. And don't sell Torre short, Matthew. He took a nothing team, added Mannywood, then won two NL West titles with them. Now that Mannywood took his show and his attitude to Chicago, they are back to being a nothing team. TBH though, if we could put the Dodgers hitters together with the Giants pitching staff....they would be absolutely unbeatable!

The Giants vs. Brew-has game might be worth watching, too. Playoffs loom large. Giants have 18 games left [and with three days off; all Mondays]; 12 of which are at home. Dodgers- 3 Brewers- 3 Cubs- 3 [road] Rockies- 3 [road] D-Backs- 3 Padres- 3 With a tie for the NL West and 1.5 games back in the WC, this has the makings of an exciting final three weeks!

Gigantes take 3-4 in San Diego. Virtual tie for first! Go Giants!!!

Let the new season begin! NFL Theme Song [insert sound of a phonograph needle sliding off the record] Well, except for the San Francisco 49ers and one teensy little problem: Alex "Huh?" Smith is still their quarterback.

Bruce Lee plays ping pong with nunchucks

When I first glaced at the thread title, I thought it said: Bruce Lee plays ping pong with nuk nuk nuks. Maybe I need to clean my glasses more often. -
In the 70s and just plain awesome for this time of year

Right now, Giants look pretty good, the [hated] Dodgers look pretty bad. Life is good.

And Apple sucks. My concern: Quit being self-serving prima donnas and build an operating system which is ACTUALLY compatible with PCs. Flooding the market with iPod and iPad toys is bullshit. Grow up, Steve Jobs. Being the software exclusive is childish crap. Build a computer I can use with my PC software and then, only then, I will be convinced you really give a shit about us consumers.

Then Victorino cried about it forever. Sheesh, the pitch wasn't that close.... Oh c'mon. Everybody knows that he only cried about it until the Phillies won the World Series 3 weeks later! Dude we swept the NL's best Padres at their home and got swept by the NL's 2nd worst at our home in the same week. Exactly. That isn't a recipe for WS success. BEAT the damn Dodgers, fer crissakes!
