  1. Road trip to Tucson. Damn, Wes, I'd love to do a "world tour" of your favorite tamales joints, cap it off with a little Schlitz, and score some chorizo & eggs in the morning...'zona style. Can't get that (that I've found) in Seattle or Philly...
  2. The thing I enjoy about Steely Dan lyrics is that for every scenario that person 'A' can think of, person 'B' can think of another equally explanitive scenario. The Steely lyrics have filled my mind with all sort of positive visions through the years. Completely agree. The lyrics fit whatever situation you wish. The mark of a good lyricist...or even...a cunning linguist! (sorry)
  3. Could there possibly _be_ a more musically omnivorous crowd? Right now (no mocking): Next up:
  4. I did...but...no "favicon..."
  5. Dave, I'm not Chaney and I've never listened to Jandek, but I completely love your reviews of the CD's and have immensely enjoyed watching your "getting to know" the artist. Your enthusiasm is infectious, the reviews are great, and I'm seriously considering hooking myself up with some of the records. Keep it up!
  6. Yup...I think there was whistling on there as well as vocalese!
  7. Definitely!!! "Bah-dah-buh-dahhhhhhh-dah-dah"
  8. It would help... B-)
  9. I agree--having tried and failed!
  10. Must have it on the brain...
  11. Jesus. Yes, I mean Fancy Free. Anyway, back to the original question...
  12. I loves me some Free Form. Dig the rhodes piano on it.
  13. Where's the chain?
  14. Did you check with Soulstation's friend?
  15. I lost my wallet in El Segundo... B-)
  16. Now if someone would just find my wife's wallet...
  17. Tonight: clams with sausage & tomatoes! Clams, shallot, white wine, jalapeno, 1/2 lb of clams, 1/2 lb mussels, chopped tomatoes and some fresh linguica. Yum!
  18. Catesta, It sounds like a little squirt of lemon might go very nicely on the finished product. Hell yeah it would!
  19. Well done, Dan-- Congrats in the new career and I _will_ get back to you on the question you asked!
  20. Hey Bill-- One possibility is to put your student loan on a temporary forebearance. Don't do it for a long time, because the interest accrues, but it can take a little temporary pressure off. Hang in there, keep your head up, I've DEFINITELY been there, and it WILL get better.
  21. Moi aussi! (Jazzwise, that is). Have to think about the _overall_ most-listened-to thing, though.
  22. Ron, where is that? On/south of Pine somewhere around 4th-6th?
  23. Home sweet home!
