  1. Can't read it and I am not creating an account to read one of their articles.
  2. Jorma Kaukonen with Tom Hobson - Quah (Grunt). I got the limited edition (500) yellow/red split vinyl. Jorma played at the Shalin Liu performing arts center a few years back, so I got him to sign my LP. This record is much better than that performance. To be honest, the show wasn't that great - certainly not worth what I paid for a ticket. I guess the show was in 2016. I kept the stub.
  3. Gerry Mulligan - The Emarcy Sextet Sessions (Mosaic). LP #1 which is "Presenting The Gerry Mulligan Sextet".
  4. Herbie Hancock - Future Shock
  5. I can't tell how many musicians have said that to me.
  6. As long as you're still in Texas, I would be willing to sell these 3 for $50 shipped to Texas.
  7. Offhand, how much are you willing to pay for each of these? That might help people decide if they are willing to part with them.
  8. I do enjoy quite a few of my Mosaics but the one that has been hitting the player most often is the Buck Clayton Jam Sessions. Such great music and it swings like hell. Always brings a smile to my face.
  9. Shrink off for me. I've picked up old used records where the original buyer left the shrink on and it got stuck all over the cover. Plus, the shrink definitely pinches the cover and it can't be good for the vinyl.
  10. All of this back & forth... and then people wonder why the post office is in such dire financial straits. It seems obvious.
  11. I took this with my cell phone. One of the benefits of living near the beach. Empty beach because they closed them.
  12. Klipsch keeps sending me E-mails offering a 25% "Friends and Family for all" discount and yet every time I go there, their Pro Media 2.1 PC speakers are never on sale ($149) and always out of stock.
  13. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (Columbia). This is one my old LPs from back in the day. I only kept a handful of them and gave the rest to a friend. His basement flooded and all of those old records got ruined.
  14. Deu - Various Artists (red vinyl) (Lapsus Records). This was a Bandcamp purchase that I made after listening to some samples. Not one of my better Bandcamp decisions. Various artists with widely varying styles doesn't make for a cohesive listen. https://lapsus.bandcamp.com/album/deu It's got a lot of tunes that sound a bit like Kraftwerk.
  15. Tor Lundvall - A Strangeness in Motion - Early Pop Recordings 1989-1999 (Dais). I've been buying Tor's dark ambient recordings for years so I was surprised the first time I spun this and heard what sounded like a 1980's recording from The Church or Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Since I like that type of music, it's keeper.
  16. Ravi Shankar - Ragas Hameer & Gara (Deutsche Grammaphon). I like to relax to these Ragas. I get this floating feeling with the sitar droning.
  17. Jimmy Heath - Love & Understanding (Muse).
  18. Charles Earland - Mama Rose (Muse). Earland with George Coleman on tenor for 4 out of 6 track. Pretty decent date.
  19. Great CD but I didn't realize it was "rare". Concord released this originally. Is Reel to Real a new Concord label? Doing a Google search, I see that Real to Reel is a new Zev Feldman label. So is Concord licensing stuff now? Interesting.
  20. Duke Ellington & John Coltrane (Impulse!). I haven't played this record in a long time. I think I picked this up in my earliest days of getting back into vinyl. It's an "all analog" pressing from 1997. As good as the music is, I don't think it sounds any better/different from the old Impulse! CD.
  21. Wretches and Jabberers Soundtrack (Rumor Mill Records). Very "folksy" record. When it was issued, it was being touted as a special audiophile recording "Produced in Collaboration with McIntosh". I bought it mainly because I liked the song samples and it was limited edition.
  22. Historically, "bootleg" meant an unauthorized live recording. We used to call unauthorized releases like this "grey market". Legitimate recordings released in unauthorized ways.
  23. Like any wine, not all Barolos are created equally. I've had great Barolos and some that were not good at all. It's also possible that you got a bad cork. There were a few studies that show as much as 10% of all corked bottles have some cork taint.
  24. 2016 Kinsella Jersey Boys Cabernet Sauvignon. This is some big Cab but it's not harsh or tannic, Smooth as silk. Lots of fruit from front to back. The front of the bottle doesn't show much about the name of the wine which is why I used the back label.
  25. Isn't this close to the CDs released back in 1998: https://www.discogs.com/John-Coltrane-Giant-Steps/release/5599728 & https://www.discogs.com/John-Coltrane-Giant-Steps/release/1468729? It looks like the main difference is "Like Sonny" has been substituted for another alternate of "Naima".
