  1. But the Spurs are still just 15-13 and out of the playoffs.
  2. But YouTube audio is compressed so downloading WAV from there is just uncompressing that audio, so it isn't going to be WAV audio quality. I may just get the mp3s from Amazon.
  3. I have not found them at any legit website.
  4. Christian Sands - Christmas Stories (Selections)
  5. I think I’m close enough to the stage tonight. šŸ˜€šŸ˜€
  6. Pianist Christian Sands is playing selections from his Christmas release at Scullers in Boston tonight. Being so close to Christmas, the Hilton hotel where the club is located has rooms for $110, so me & the wife are making it a night out.
  7. I would think that if there were some sort of benefit to subscribing, there might be more subscribers. I subscribe to another forum that has ads. Subscribers don't see the ads. Maybe not pertinent here, but an idea to think about. Since this is a music forum, maybe have some kind download available only to subscribers?
  8. People seem to be showing him how much they appreciate him right now. https://www.gofundme.com/f/coming-together-for-the-great-jazz-pianist-richie-beirach I'm glad to see he's getting some help with his medical expenses but at the same time, pretty steamed that he needs to ask for it.
  9. Frank Foster & Frank Wess - Frankly Speaking (Concord)
  10. This is such an interesting read. I have to pick up his books. Which one is recommended first, "Jazz Anecdotes" or "From Birdland To Broadway: Scenes From A Jazz Life"?
  11. This place costs $1,900.00/year (actually $1,855.00 but I'm rounding up). $1,900/50=38. So we'd need at least 38 subscribers to keep the place open.
  12. Many years ago, I stupidly tossed all of my old rock show ticket stubs. I had a huge stack and I just thought, "Why am I saving these things".
  13. Weird to think that ticket stubs are going to be like payphones to future generations.
  14. So far, no, only downloads. $6.99 to download a ~22 minute long 10" LP of cool Christmas music at Amazon is a bit steep though.
  15. Charlie Byrd - The Charlie Byrd Christmas Album (Concord)
  16. That's not the one I used to have though.
  17. I told Jim he should release these tunes on LP to try and take advantage of the vinyl surge but that was two or three years ago. There are signs that LP sales may have already peaked.
  18. My wife and I enjoyed the beginning but felt it got too disjointed by the end.
  19. I have not been able to find the artwork Jim A originally posted for these tunes but I did find another CD backer from somewhere...
  20. I finished watching this today and it was very well done. I chuckled quite a few times with the "descriptions" of a lot of the people they interviewed. Like "Dave Holland - Miles Davis bassist 1969-1970".
  21. Harry Allen - Christmas in Swingtime (Koch Jazz). Unusual for Harry in that he plays these time-worn Christmas classics with an organ trio (Larry Goldings, Peter Bernstein & Jake Hanna) instead of his usual Piano/Bass/Drums accompaniment. I so wish I could have made it down to NYC on Black Friday to see Harry play in trio at Mezzrow. I'll have to watch the schedules to see if he is planning that again in the future.
  22. What's old is new I guess. They remind me of the glasses my late aunt wore back in the 70s. She also had hoop earrings that were about the same size as the glass frame.
  23. I saw Lupri a few times when he was going to Berklee and bought "Shadow of the Vibe" & "Window Up Window Down" from him back in the day.
