You seem have an agenda here, but it's not the corporations who are planning to destroy materials - including 78s, scores, manuscripts, liner notes, etc. - unless you're talking about the CBC as a corporation.
I don't know what the intention of the thread starter was, but I had the feeling that sooner or later every pianist in jazz history would be mentioned.

Sometimes when I listen to Django's recordings, I find myself doing a subconscious Dean Benedetti/Bird thing - just listening to Django and tuning out the other musicians.
I should have added Wes to that mention of Getz. It appears to me that jazz - whether pop influenced or not - outsold the straight pop acts on Verve - at least during the early to mid 60's.
