  2. They probably want to move stuff without the hassles of shipping.
  3. Peter, you are THE Haydn Quartets fanatic on this Board. (That's meant in a positive sense.)
  4. Also, father-in-law (for a while) of Phil Everly.
  5. FWIW, my copy has 61007 on the front and back covers, the labels, and the obi. And, for some reason unknown to me, N-6-21 in a white rectangle in the upper right front cover. I feel a bit like an r&b nerd talking about the B-sides of old 45s or a blues nerd talking about matrix numbers.
  6. Although it's been said before - a wonderful but somewhat overlooked album.
  7. You're correct that most soundtracks were recorded on the West coast, but there were plenty of regular studio musicians in the East then, and Roswell Rudd wasn't among those guys. I just wondered how he was chosen. Perhaps Hopkins knew him?
  8. Coleman Hawkins: The Hawk Flies High
  9. My classical collection is small compared to most here, but I love the Quatuor Mosaiques Haydn recordings.
  10. Black Ace: I Am the Boss Card in Your Hand
  11. Frank Hovington: Lonesome Road Blues (Rounder)
  12. I know that he was a skilled musician, but he wasn't among the usual crew who played on soundtrack albums. I just wondered how it came about.
  13. There's a lot of great east coast music for you to seek out and listen to.
  14. I wonder how Roswell Rudd ended up playing on this.
  15. I was going to say the same thing. You beat me to it.
  16. Jimmy McCracklin and his Blues Blasters - The Modern Recordings 1948 - 1950
  17. http://wgnradio.com/2018/02/15/gerris-palm-tavern-a-lost-chicago-cultural-gem-it-was-the-place-to-be/ A friend sent me a link to this short broadcast - an interesting mix of music, history, money, and politics. (The first two tend not to mix well with the second two.)
  18. Dicky Wells: Trombone Four-in-Hand
  19. Happy Birthday! - wherever you may be.
