  10. Bill Dixon 7-Tette/Archie Shepp and the NY Contemporary Five (Savoy) Decided to give this a spin after reading Jeff's post of a few days ago. Glad I did.
  11. Tristano-Konitz-Marsh: Complete Atlantics (Mosaic) - LP 6
  12. Ruby Johnson: I'll Run Your Hurt Away (Stax/Ace)
  13. Buck Clayton: CBS Jam Sessions (Mosaic) - LP 4
  14. Herbie Nichols (Mosaic) - LP 4 A treasure - both for the music and for Roswell Rudd's liner notes.
  15. Always a beautiful listen.
  16. N.Y. Wild Guitars (Fire/Fury/Enjoy/P-Vine)
  17. Mable John: Stay Out of the Kitchen (Stax/Ace) Hadn't listened to this in years. She recorded more good sides than I remembered.
  18. Beyond Lee, Warne, and Lowe, it was interesting to see and hear Don Elliot take a solo on mellophone. I don't think I'd ever seen a mellophone soloist before this. Thanks for the post for various reasons.
  19. Texas Sand - Anthology of Western Swing (Rambler) - clear vinyl
  20. Is this Nighthawk material? I have a Gladiators LP - Serious Thing - and an LP - Dread Prophecy - where they back Ethiopian (Leonard Dillon). Both are on the Nighthawk label and both are great records.
  21. Must have been cool to have been a guest that night.
  22. Beware of the Texas Blues - Volume 2 (Blue Moon)
  23. I have the LP version. Had no idea that there was extra material on the CD - sounds like it might be interesting. There was a time when I'd jump at the chance to hear the additional music, but at this stage of the game, I'll probably stick with what I already have.
