The CD version has an extra 12 minutes of music that was edited out of the LP, probably for time constraints. I haven't compared the two for sound quality.
I don't think that I'd have any interest in an unedited Sound, and I already have the vinyl versions of the Ran Blake recordings.
I guess I'll be waiting for the Joe Daley.
For anyone who doesn't have Rapport or Film Noir, I do recommend them highly.
Just watched She Done Him Wrong on TCM. I needed a refresher on Mae West's great lines and delivery. (I'm sure if I had said that to Ms. West she would have thanked me for the set up and would have had a snappy comeback.)
I don't know exactly what went on between him and the musicians and if it was on the up and up. I do know that the music which the musicians made and which his record company released changed my life. That's something that can't be denied.
There was a time when I would have gone for the three disc set, listened to it once, and then let it sit on the shelf. Thankfully, that time has gone away.
