I really like that play. I've seen it in 3 different productions! I'd love to see a production. The closest I can probably come right now is to pick up a performance on CD from our library system. I see there are some scenes available on You Tube, so I'll those out also.

Reese and the Smooth Ones holds a special place for me, since it was the first Art Ensemble recording I heard.

To my mind, one of the most surprising major label releases.

I guess my point is that there are certain people here who post much more often on sound quality than they post about the music.

Any enterprises that focus primarily on "commercial potential" hold next to no interest for me. And why "art" in parentheses? Do you work in the movie industry or record industry? Or do you want to? I only ask because it seems as if you seem to spend a fair bit of time defending them.

Any record company wants to make a profit. Record companies focusing only on commercial potential and making a profit is a good part of what's wrong with the record business today.

They're not separate entities, but when discussion of sound quality trumps discussion of the music, there's something wrong.

Don't know anything about the man, other than what you've posted here, but I hope he can use his position to accomplish some good things.

He also recorded two albums on Sonet: The Cajuns Volumes 1 & 2. Volume 1 has some dynamic music by The Balfa Brothers with Nathan Abshire.
