  2. I just came across this interview with Cecil Taylor and wanted to share it with anyone who might be interested. (Apologies if it's been posted here before.) http://wings.buffalo.edu/epc/authors/funkhouser/ceciltaylor.html
  3. A few more inches of snow - and colder.
  4. An overlooked gem.

  7. Haven't been through that situation, so all I can say is that I'm sorry for what you and your family are going through and I hope that all works out as well as it can.
  8. Good to read that. Thanks.

  10. I went to school in Buffalo. I remember well that if Buffalo got hit, the "snow belt" (south of Buffalo) got buried.
  11. Well, sort of. It's two sessions with different personnel mashed together, recorded by MPS, put out by Prestige. It's got part of Hip Walk. 12. Again, glad you're off this week, Tom. Your old stomping grounds got off easy.
  13. If you're looking at things from sociological/musical point of view, ok. From a strictly musical point of view, there was too much good music from that era to bother with BNs's 70's output. At least imo. I know you look at things differently, Jim. So we can agree to disagree.
  14. Or how much each of them felt threatened by something new.
  15. All I know is that certain record companies that reissue music originally released on 78s - Yazoo, Mamlish, Blues Image, Frog, Jazz Oracle - have issued LPs and CDs with very good sounding music. I have no doubt and it makes sense that the original 78s they've used as source material sound better than the LPs and CDs.
  16. I'd look elsewhere - than 70's BN, I mean. But that's just me.
  17. Less snow here (Hudson Valley) than they predicted. 3", maybe 4" at most so far. Another 1"-3" expected. And the snow is very light. Prediction yesterday afternoon was for 12"-18". I'm happy. I know that other areas are getting hit hard. Hope everyone there is safe and warm.
