  3. I'll have to disagree with Lon about the sound - though just a matter of opinion. To my ears, the sound on these was messed with enough that I've sought out other recordings where I can. The sound isn't terrible, but it's deadened enough to make these recordings unsatisfactory to my ears. Still, for the amount of music at that price, it's worthwhile if you're not too particular.

  7. I recall radio stations playing the Swingle Singers doing Bach in the early 1960s. Ward Swingle was part of the Double Six of Paris, who recorded a good album with Dizzy and Bud in 1963. Fun music to listen to. I never realized that he was American and from Mobile. R.I.P., Mr. Swingle.
  8. I assume BGP/ACE are legit and just license stuff with a pretty all-over-the-place approach. Their catalog doesn't exactly appear well-curated. They bought the catalog and control it. They do a GREAT job with Blues oriented material. Amen to the last sentence.
  9. Khan Jamal Trio: The Traveler (Steeplechase) This image must be the CD version. My LP has a different background color.
  10. Peanuts are probably better if you don't want to worry about breaking off a composite/filling.
