  13. Only know his music from a recording he made with Roscoe Mitchell. That's a good one - the two of them found a common ground and plowed it. I'm sure there's more good Borah Bergman music that's escaped my notice. Thanks, Mr. Bergman.
  14. Miles Davis Sextet: Jazz at the Plaza (CBS Sony Japan) First tune is Monk's "Straight No Chaser". Except when I looked at the liner notes and the record label it's "Jazz at the Plaza" and credited to Miles. What was that about? Miles had recorded "Chaser" on a previous Columbia album, so someone should have known better.Monk didn't get the credit he was due. Hope he got the money he deserved.
  15. There's an English language version published by Da Capo, which unfortunately doesn't include many of the photographs from the original French edition. I have the French edition and read what I could before I gave up. My ideas are greater than my reality, but I still had all of the photographs. I once almost bought the French edition of Francois Truffaut's correspondence when I saw it in a book store in Cambridge, Ma. I thought I'd be able to translate it bit by bit. Glad I waited for the English translation which was published about two years later. Your English seems very good, so perhaps adding the Da Capo edition would be a good bet for you.

  23. I've seen the first 2 episodes and found it quite enjoyable. It's quite different than the PBS series so I didn't compare them back to back. I also had no problems with them casting Lucy Lui as Watson...I think she's mature enough not to get dismissed as just a "babe" at this point in her career. I was just noting that, in general, American TV casts good looking people (especially women) instead of casting good actors. Elementary features a somewhat ordinary looking Holmes, so they probably felt that they had to cast an attractive actress as Watson.
