  2. Crown was the budget label of RPM/Modern. Most Crown LPs were pressed on very low grade vinyl. Modern/RPM/Crown went bankrupt, but the company was revived as Kent, with United as the budget label. There were some good quality recordings on RPM/Modern/Crown/Kent/United, but the sound quality for the most part wasn't heard until Ace in the U.K. started reissuing that material. The Bihari brothers, the original owners of the labels, skimped on masterings, pressings, covers, and anywhere they could save a buck. Ace has finally done things right.

  11. That butchering of the English language does very little to convince me. The person who wrote the review is listed as being from Argentina. English might not be his native language.
  12. It would be nice if he'd be the first of many to go. Unfortunately, he'll be back somewhere, sometime.

  14. My wife Joan woke up before I did this morning and started reading The Times. She came into our bedroom and told me that there was a feature article about the daughter of the guy who started Cadence magazine marrying a musician. I got up and read it and figured it might be worth sharing. So HERE it is.

  18. I enjoyed him on Taxi. After he left that show to try and become a bigger star, it seems as if it was all downhill. I'll just remember him as Bobby Wheeler on Taxi.

  22. Thinking about waking up tomorrow and hearing some of the best music I'll hear all day - the sound of birds singing in the trees outside our bedroom window. And it won't cost me anything more than waking up and listening.
  23. I think someone posted here - can't find it now - that the pronunciation of Celtics is "Seltics" rather than "Keltics" because "Keltics" Suck wouldn't sound right.
