I like your Organissimo name, Chauncey Morehouse. It inspired me to read more about the jazz drummer, Chauncey Morehouse. I was surprised at how he was still active well into the 1970s. Chauncey, you have lurked here for years and developed opinions about some of the posters. Are there any posters who have truly impressed you in a positive way? Can anyone who "lurks" for years be trusted? Sounds almost like a stalker mentality.

  9. Don't care about influence - only about what moves me. Much of what Django played does that - very little of what Zawinul played does it for me.

  13. I have to get that one. I should mention that in addition to the three Bowie trio tracks, there are a couple of cuts reissued from Frank Lowe's Inappropriate Choices CD, and two cuts with Bill Laswell on electronics. I don't care for the Laswells, but they're the last two tracks, and I turn it off there.

  15. "Be-Bop" from The Sonny Clark Trio (BN) The music seems to just flow out of Sonny Clark on this one. Sounds as if he could have played on and on, if he had chosen to.

  17. The Phillip Wilson Project (Jazz Door) contains three trio recordings w. Lester Bowie, William Parker, and Phillip Wilson. "Cool" is a very fine piece of music.

  22. I grew a beard many years ago, and a friend of mine told me - some people look distinguished in a beard; some people look tough in a beard; you just look like someone the world stepped on. He was right, and I shaved it off. Gasol looks like some homeless street cat with that beard.
