Them "happy birthday" posts weren't all that great either, my friend.
-
Exactly. Dude has been posting his arse off since day one, that's why I don't get the intimidation thing he speaks of.
-
JS, ghost, get his legs!
-
Right! Organissimo members/posters don't take no shit from anybody! And this is what I hear loud and clear. In my experience you will create a situation in which people feel intimidated to post. And what you will have is a 'few good 'ol' boys posting to each other' But that is just my view. Che. Oh, c'mon, Che, lighten up a little! I dig that you're here (and we can always use another liberal/leftie--we gotta compensate for the sorry state of affairs in the US govt. and the godforsaken SCLM ), but there's a very lighthearted attitude here that I sometimes think people miss out on. (All right, I'm also a guy who thinks listeners miss the humor in Smiths songs--so whadda I know?) I think the site's pretty damned inclusive... and post count means absolutely nothing here. Hell, John Litweiler has posted about 20 times, and yet anything he has to say about jazz will have far more import than something posted by me... or a number of other folks who have umpteen hundred or thousand posts. Part of what you might be perceiving is that many of us here got to know one another on the old Blue Note Bulletin Board, and it's almost impossible sometimes to keep from making jokes, references, etc., that go way back. It's almost like reading a favorite comic strip... did you happen to see Doonesbury this week? (Zonker getting fired for getting high on the job?) Trudeau threw in a reference that only longtime fanatics like me, who's been reading the strip since I was a kid, would've gotten... hard to avoid sometimes, and why should we, as long as it's not the primary raison d'etre of this place. Which it isn't; love of jazz is. And not even that is required to post here! That's what I was trying to say, only I was using the poor grammar approach.
-
That's a question that only you can answer. Because to me, and I am new to this board your posts seem a little aggressive and intimidating. Che. Maybe that is because you are new. JS has been around for years, most of us posting here known one another through this board or other for awhile now. I would not expect anyone to understand the different personalities in only a few days.

Right! Organissimo members/posters don't take no shit from anybody! Shouldn't that be, "...don't take no shit from nobody?" B-) BTW, can we hereby dub ourselves "O.G.s?" True that! What was I thinking? The O.G.s, hmmmm...., now that's got the flava.

XM Radio was playing this while I was driving home lastnight. I heard four of the tracks. "I'll Close My Eyes", "Back at The Chicken Shack", a tune called "Dot Com Blues" and another I didn't get the name of. Joey D sounded great on piano on the track I heard, and while I'm no expert on Jimmy Smith, I think this one will not disappoint those who are.

True, but I kinda hope he does anyway. It never seems to get old.
-
Alison, thanks for the post. B-)
-
Have a great day, SJ! B-)

Now if that ain't one post which should be made sticky, I don't know which one is. Good points! Cheers! Beautiful, Jim!

I agree 100%. As far as the topic of the thread, I was very much into the metal thing in the 80's. I didn't dress the part or anything, but enjoyed a lot of the music. You can poke fun of the way most of those guys looked, but there were some talent in those bands. I don't know that I would go so far as to say the James Taylor types sucked, but I'd still take the metal.

Sounds like a real nice trip.

How does it make u feel when u start a thread...

Hey there is more to life than posting a thread or two, I try and just see it as a hobby, something I do to chill out no more and no less. Che. You must be really chillin' out. So far it's 88 posts in your first day. At this pace, you'll be passing all of us up before too long. Actually, che started chillin' yesterday. I was thinking first 24 hours. How's that? Go on and get all technical with me. -

Holy smokes, somebody better blow those candles out before this place burns to the ground.
-
They ALL need publicity.
-
Here's a '60. Did they make one in '59? I have no idea, it's just one of my standard questions. I can't find any pics of one, so maybe not.
-
For what it's worth, I saw a coupe sold for $2,900 a month or two ago. It needed engine work, and had some rust and body damage.
-
Convertible?
-
In the end it was good publicity for them. They were free to say what they said, and others were free to speak out against them.
-
Hope you don't kind the one thread for both of you. Happy Birthday, guys! B-) You will have to share.

I thought it was dead.
