  1. Just saw him in Cool Hand Luke. RIP
  2. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention. I watched it last night. Very well done.
  3. Great actor. RIP
  4. You could be right about that. It's very choppy and distracting. The story line with Avi is also odd. Re: The Deuce. I really appreciate the detail.
  5. The Deuce has the potential to be a great series. Other series going at the moment. Ballers, Dice and Ray Donovan. This season of Ray Donavan has been a let down thus far. I can't wait for Curb Your Enthusiasm to start.
  6. "Dyin' ain't much of a livin', boy."
  7. Ben Johnson bought cars from a Lincoln Mercury dealership I worked at for a brief period in my life. The owner of the dealership dealt with him directly so I never sold him a car but we always got a kick out of his stories when he would come in for service. He credited John Ford as "the genius that turned him into a half-assed actor".
  8. That sums it up pretty well. I've always liked westerns way more than most genres. I'll take some dude's shooting it out in the dirt and dust over stuff like Star Wars any day of the week.
  9. It does for me. I completely left it out, but definitely deserves to be included.
  10. Hell yeah, I was in Amarillo by happy hour. I make it a point when heading west to stay the night there whenever feasible rather than somewhere in New Mexico. No offense to New Mexicans, Id just rather drive through it than live it. There are far better places and far worse than Amarillo but I found a spot (regional chain) next to where I stay that serves up a decent meal along with a fine selection of adult beverages and the people behind and at the bar always seem very friendly. Yeah, I read that shit about Putin and others saying similar. We probably all have reason to be concerned. I'm putting a piece of paper and tape over the camera on this here laptop as I type this.
  11. "I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it."
  12. Not sure I'm ready for all that. Sometimes just a little respect and some good service at the local bar or restaurant is enough for me. The dude from Tesla is saying AI (as in artificial intelligence) will be the the cause of a WWIII (as in the number three, not three I's) On a side note about Tesla. While checking into a hotel along I-40 in Texas last week, the desk clerk said "hey your last name is almost Tesla. I bet you wish it was". I responded (politely), the car company is not owned by someone named Tesla, I'm pretty sure he just thought it sounded cool and maybe as tribute at to Nikola Tesla. Would I like to have dude's money? Hell yeah, but my name has a long and proud history. So no, I do not wish my last name was Tesla. Her response, "well there is a welcome happy hour at 5:00 pm and breakfast starts at 6:00 am". Anecdote brought to you by AI
  13. Not sure why I dropped Simpsons, I guess it had just run it's course with me. Family Guy on the other hand still makes me laugh. This AI shit is getting crazy. I wonder if AI will ever find a cure for cancer or as with a lot of this technology just think of more bullshit we can all live without to clog up electronics and our day with. Progressive ways to kill jobs. Here is the big questions... How long before AI forms it's own union?
  14. Firing this dude pretty much means firing the entire orchestra. After all these years? Totally classless. It makes me chuckle when the so called "progressives" like Groening and company whine about "corporations cutting jobs in favor of profits" but continue to do just that and so much more. I gave up on the Simpsons years ago.
  15. Fuckin' Arizona has been having a great season with 81 wins and are still 11.5 games behind the Dodgers. I'm looking forward to the postseason.
  16. Not looking good at all for the small islands. Hopefully this thing turns sharp and heads back out to sea before reaching Florida.
  17. Both good, but I liked "They Call Me Trinity" a little more. I've always been a big John Wayne fan and "True Grit" is my favorite Wayne movie but "Chisum", "Big Jake" and "The Cowboys" to name a few, are also among my favorites. "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is an all time great one, up there with "A Fistful of Dollars" and "Hang 'Em High". The Eastwood westerns are the best. Slightly newer favorites... "Silverado", "Tombstone" and "Maverick".
