  1. Nice story. I have two, one of which is celebrating a birthday today.
  2. Yeah, I guess I just didn't want to believe the percentage of shit was so high but it is.
  3. I hope they survive. The thing about only 18% of music issues using live guitars is puzzling to me. Long live rock and metal, motherfuckers!
  4. Yep, they're all going to be doing it, not just Ford. A lot of the manufacturers are already zeroed in on the "crossover" and smaller SUV type vehicles.
  5. Higgins is one of my all time favorites. There are two tracks that really made me take notice of and appreciate his skills, Morgan's "The Gigolo" and Mobley's "The Morning After". Seeing him listed as a sideman always confirmed to me there was no way the drum playing was going to suck. Great style, power and grace.
  6. I was in a similar situation with points from a hotel chain and my wife picked a bunch of subscriptions. The cooking magazines are good and come in handy and I like looking at Dwell to see cool houses and stuff, but GQ is a turd and I'm glad not to get it anymore.
  7. 7/10 I'd probably do better on a Grace Kelly quiz.

I've now watched a few videos of this guy and already see that his moves are repetitive and it's all very boring. I'll stick to future things that actually matter to me. It's certainly not these two.
  9. Ha, talk about repeater pencil. I think GQ runs this "how to wear black suit" shit every few months.

Indeed. I've watched some videos of Leo P, it's exhausting. Dude still does his shtick while others are soloing. Looks like the crowd likes it though and maybe he's talented, but the hair and clothes are loud enough, the antics to that degree seem unnecessary.

Yep. I for one always wanted and want to hear opposing views, it's what creates discussion and debate. Today though, there is none of that. Friends actually stop being friends over political affiliations, strangers don't talk politics/world events to one another unless they agree with each other or lie, and people are protesting protests while protesting, some without even knowing what they are protesting which starts a whole new protest and then we have the "safe spaces". I'm one that doesn't care for the music of Ms. Kelly. Feel free to tell me I am wrong. Sorry Jim, you can delete if you feel the need.

Exactly. Shit is getting out of hand.
  13. I enjoy Hendelman. I've seen him live a few times with Jeff Hamilton and it's always good.

Now, I'm offended! Honda over Chevy, shame on you.

    Agree.
  16. I hear you. Honestly, the whole digital copy thing is the way most broadcasts are taking place these days anyway. Satellite radio, internet radio, major market radio stations, etc. etc., are all, I'm sure, not inserting CDs, or spinning LPs. The only real problem I have in this case is destroying hard copies of what somebody might really enjoy having. I get the whole copyright thing, but if they didn't explore other options beyond destroying, shame on them.
  17. From what I've read, CBC has around $560 million a year in revenue and receives $1.09 billion a year in government funding. That is lots of money. Of course, it operates at a loss, but still, if they wanted to keep, I'm sure they would find a way.
  18. Ellington's participation on this one is a blast to listen to, just like with Cote d'Azur.
