  1. I know for a fact neither one of us have a desire to be in the same bathroom let alone on the same toilet. Besides, I can't remember the last time I had to take a crap at the very same time my lady did. I'm not even sure she goes number 2. I'm glad they have a TV and iPOD option, but being bored or trying to cover noises is not near as much of a concern as the smells. What a ridiculous waste of money this is.
  2. This reminds me that I need to finish the movie script you promised to read. It's a story involving the characters and goings on of the discussion forums on a band's website. Totally fictional of course. There is murder, sex, politics, consumption of alcohol and junk food with all kinds of mishaps and shenanigans. Some of the characters are very interesting. We've got, Ghost of Benny Goodman, Freeforalmostall, Jsangria, Cosmo Nessa, Conn250, Big Alfonso, and many others. I figured for the screen play we could do a small town setting and all these folks would live there. One of the characters could be the Sheriff who has a Duke Ellington loving deputy side kick. There could be a barber, mechanic, town drunk, etc. Well, I better get back to work. Have a happy birthday, Ray.
  3. I bet he shot a teen in Tacoma, just to watch him die. Or just to steal his shirt.
  4. Yeah, okay. GM has 21% market share in the U.S. and number one in sales worldwide and their losing money. Costs have nothing to do with it? 5. um....um...um.....um........, I was like,...um....
  6. Let's be fair here. Remember what a Cadillac looked like the the mid 80s? They did respond, but the demand for large vehicles quickly returned with a vengeance. The U.S. automakers get all the heat and yet Toyota in this article clearly takes the position of, "we're not going to panic and sales for the big stuff will be up again real soon". I don't see any of the Foreign manufacturers backing off production of full size gas guzzling models. I do however see them constantly praised as models of efficiency. But I wonder, was the U.S. auto industry so badly mis-managed? Some perhaps, but what shape would Nissan and Honda be in of they had to pay bloated pensions, healthcare for ex-employees and inflated wages for current? After all, their workers are not union. When people were cheering the UAW for going on strikes and sticking to the man, they forgot something. Maybe it was too expensive to re-tool and downsize models because the union still insisted on $28/hr for the guy washing the windshields. Meanwhile, for many years they were cranking out a shit product while demanding higher wages. I realize some of that shit back then you can maybe blame on engineers, designers and upper management, but what about the dude putting on the drive shaft half ass? Well, he's retired now with a pension, full healthcare, AND he gets a 40% ex-employee discount on a new car for himself plus all his friends and family.
  7. Please tell me it wasn't from Mike's Deli.
  8. The statistics are bad? What exactly does that mean? Sorry, but I don't think the report amounts to much if you leave out critical components.
  9. Probably the same two guys.
  10. I do believe that Restaurant Crillon ad is the work of Winold Reiss.
  11. Yeah, I was in my teens the first time around, and Welcome Back Kotter seemed to be typical mindless sitcom stuff to me. But WKRP and Mary Tyler Moore were classics. And of course, Jim Ignatowski remains my own personal idol! "What?......Where?" I know what you mean, the show was never in the same class as the others. Still fun to check it out though, if for nothing else the theme song and to remember 86th Street back in the day.
  12. Interesting point. She has been watching the repeat episodes on HBO On Demand so I guess that explains what is going on.
  13. Unfortunately I can't say the same. I've sat through several episodes. I had to see what all the hype was about and my girlfriend is a fan, so even when I didn't want to see it, sometimes I could still hear it.
  14. It ain't full frontal, more like peekaboo around the side, and it's not even fully exposed. Now Cynthia Nixon, OTOH..... Oh yes, and LOTS of boobs. This movie was definitely calculated to give the guys in the audience a few reasons to stick around. That said, I still enjoyed the movie with my wife, who's a big fan of the show. I was maybe one of two guys in the packed house! Funny thing is, despite knowing very little about the show, I ended up caring about what happens to all the characters. You're a much better man than I am. My old lady wants to see it but knows better than to even think about asking if I want to go. The show to me was always more than ridiculous, I can't imagine the movie being any less so.
  15. Oh, I think I do....
  16. Hell yeah, and tonight is the "hash brownies" episode.
  17. WGN is now going by WGN America and running what they call "Outta Sight Retro Nights". Two hours each night of these classic shows.... Taxi WKRP Barney Miller Mary Tyler Moore Welcome Back Kotter Reminds me of what TV Land used to be. Only problem is, I can't tell if it's just for this week only or if it is going to be an on going thing.
  18. Baked potato, celery and carrot sticks. Summer is coming and I need to be able to squeeze into a Speedo, er.........,I mean swim trunks.
  19. Free, your neighbors ever come floating over the fence for a taste? For me.... Grilled artichokes w/some fusilli in a cheese and pancetta sauce.
  20. Taxi - Seasons one, two and three.
  21. That is exactly what I want, I'll make space for it. I've got ribs down solid, I think. I use a simple dry rub and only mop them a little towards the end. They come out great on the grill with indirect heat after about an hour and a half, but like you I'd love to smoke them bad boys the way it should be. Plus, try doing a brisket in a gas grill and you use up three + hours of propane.
  22. I could not agree more. As a result we've got kind of a new strange society that is afraid to walk, drive, or be seen alone without talking on the cell phone, texting, or being on the computer. Sometimes I think we are also creating an inability for some to have direct face to face contact and real conversations. There is almost nothing I hate more than talking on the cell phone even know I have two and receive a shit load of calls daily from both sides of the country. I don't answer quite a bit now because a lot of the calls are meaningless. "Hey dude I just saw a dog taking a shit on the side of the road!" blah blah blah I very rarely text, if ever, and email, unfortunately I'm stuck with as it has become to much of a major communication tool in business these days. Oh and by the way David, I just sent you an email and PM talking about this very topic.
