  1. Aric!!!! I'd rather go full out and invite DEEP back.
  2. I think that's unnecessary--is there anyone among us who doesn't want the Big O to live?????? I would hope Jim knows we all would like to see the board live.
  3. Never thought I'd have the opportunity to say this, but can I sleep with your daughter?
  4. You wait. If the board does go, I'm going to drop some big ass confessions at the end of December. Stay tuned....
  5. Music only would prohibit dudes like me from participating as much. Of course, that could your plan. If charging an annual membership fee makes it all work, I'm in.
  6. I hope this post puts you one closer, Al.
  7. A few moderators would not be such a bad thing, if it's too much for Jim to follow. Maybe sell some advertising space? Doesn't AAJ do that? Charge a fee per post. I'm with those that would like to see the place stay. Sure, I can understand Jim wanting to shut it down, but is it the bb that costs so much to run and is a pain in the ass or the entire site? Would you be closing both? Anyways, I hope to see it stay. No argument the board has changed but in the end it's still a pretty decent group of people here and it is doubtful we would find another place with the freedoms and history this one had. I would miss it for sure.
  8. I doubt Knievel had much if any money left.
  9. No question, it is very nice. Although for me it was only $50 mil. Still nice though. Pasta, that is great to hear. For me this was an up and down year to say the least. One positive, rising costs and all other bullshit aside, this was a record breaking year for the business.
  10. I had "The Jazz" once back in the late 80s. Penicillin works.
  11. I actually saw this jump. Anybody else have this toy as a kid? Hell yeah, dude! In my house though, G.I. Joe ended up kicking Evel's ass and stealing the bike. Knievel was reduced to being Joe's camper driver.
  12. hehe Of course, but it was a 1982 edition.
  13. R.I.P., Cecil.
  14. Thank you, Mr. Strayhorn.
  15. Good for you, Peter.
  16. Sound like an interesting book- I'd also like to read Anthony Boudrain's book "Kitchen Confidential". Edit: I heard an interview w/Boudrain on NPR today. Really a fascinating person who's had quite a life. On a side note, Bourdain and Batali are good friends. Mario is one of the few chefs on Food Network, Bourdain does not make fun of and actually considers him among the best in the world. WD, thanks for that recommendation. I've never met Batali but have met his partner Joe Bastianich whose mother Lidia does not live far from me. Lidia is also true master in the kitchen.
  17. and here i was just drawing him! imagine dat! HA!
  18. Sorry to say, I've seen enough of her as well. I'd rather watch big Mario Batali work his magic.
  19. Sorry to hear about all that.
