  1. No doubt that was said after somebody passed a hat around to collect cash for another keg.
  2. A very reasonable post there, Larry. You should be a critic or something. Let's face it, I'm no expert/pro, so maybe my expectations are lower, or I don't really know what to listen for. I just know what sounds good to me and that "Tenderly" performance you speak of is exactly what hooked me. Obviously not everything OP did was a winner, but I think he did enough to warrant a solid place in music history. That said, I have actually enjoyed reading the "not a fan" of Oscar's music posts. It helps me learn, makes me think and may get me to listen more closely.
  3. Seems much more reasonable and doable as a social affair. It would be very cool to be at an org gig with a bunch of people from the board. An added bonus would be seeing some of the other musicians from this place playing with the band.
  4. This is my Chihuahua, Minga. She turned 9 years young today. I've spoiled the shit out of her and as a result, I got sole custody in the divorce back in 2001. She is a true little pain in the ass, yet the spoiling continues and she can do no wrong in my eyes.
  5. What's everybody eating tonight? We still do a traditional Sicilian, Christmas Eve seafood and pasta dinner in honor of my grandmother Scaturro, may she rest in peace. Antipasto followed by Manicotti...,on to Calimari,Shrimp,Mussels,Crab,Lobster, baked white fish, and Linguine with clam sauce. Christmas day consists of more antipasti, pasta, salsiccia, polpette alla casalinga, arancini, and melanzana.
  6. I know the drill about Peterson being too technical and all that, but I truly loved his playing. He was one of the first jazz musicians that really hooked me. All that trio and sideman work he did was pure swinging magic to me. RIP, O.P.
  7. Merry Christmas, you knuckleheads. I submit this holiday message for your enjoyment.
  8. Hope you had a great day.
  9. I must have been around 7 or 8 years old when I finally gave up. I'm the youngest of five children so I had my suspicions , but it was confirmed the year I found the polaroids left out on the table of my father, Uncle Vinny, and Uncle Dom assembling a Jackie Stewart Aurora AFX track for me. I think I lead on one more year.
  10. I didn't read all the posts in those links, so these may have already been used. The Good the Bad and the Ugly.... Big Jake.... Goodfellas... Shaft... In Like Flint... Blazing Saddles... Young Frankenstein.... Bullet... My Cousin Vinny... Dirty Harry.. Magnum Force... Caddyshack...
  11. You mean that time has passed?
  12. Very sad, R.I.P., Mr. Dorn.
  13. This is a photoshop deal, right?
  14. Agreed, it is a true thing of beauty.
  15. I know you're having some nasty weather up there, were you able to cook 'em on the grill? I made up a big pot o' chili tonight which I will "eat off of" for the upcoming week. :rsmile: I'm out in Arizona until next week, you can always grill in this weather. I have family over from the other side that wanted to see the desert and eat some ribs, so here I am. Plus this week I'm doing the holiday employee party. I usually cook for eveybody but it has become too much for me to handle. This year I hired a guy and his crew to cook up some Barbacoa with rice and beans.
  16. BBQ U Memphis Dry Rub Ribs
  17. A young Clark Terry can be seen HERE at the end of the clip with Basie. “Well, I’m too old to pimp, and too young to die, so I’m just gon’ keep playin’” Happy Birthday!
  18. What are those things on the cake? Looks like multiple tornados coming down from the clouds.
  19. It's actually a picture of Morley Safer and Dick Nixon arm wrestling.
  20. I agree with you. There was nothing wrong with game back then and less 40+ year old dudes breaking home run records and throwing the ball 95 mph. How many non-juiced players have been stuck in the minors because they could not hit like Palmeiro, or pitch like Clemens?
  21. A birthday? I didn't think JSngrys got older. Wiser perhaps, but forever 21. I shall drink in your honor tonight.
  22. Those make great towel racks. hehe I use the elliptical machine to hang my coats on. It pisses the old lady off since she actually uses the damn thing.
