I used to watch Emeril, but quickly grew tired of the show. Not that he isn't a talented chef, just too much shtick for me. Food Network has a habit of over doing shows and the on air personalities. Too much Emeril was a problem and now way too much Rachel Ray, the likes of Paula Deen is even more of a problem.

I am doing that - I have no home phone. It works great! Same here. I've not had a land line for several years. I did the dastardly deed Wednesday a week ago, and I've already used 188 of my 300 minutes. Time flies when you're having a good time. Gave up the land line also? My suggestion would be to increase the minutes in your plan, or reduce your peak time calls. After you've been using only a cell phone for a few months you will get an accurate feel for how many minutes you need and can adjust accordingly. I have a lot of minutes available, but I don't use much since I hate talking on the phone.

The problem is that celebrities get special treatment to protect them from any inmate trying to get some notoriety and he will never live in the general population. Maybe, maybe not. At a state prison I would not be surprised if he was in the general population after being isolated for just a short period. As to whether or not something would happen to him, that odds are probably against that. Considering the way many African Americans on the street believe OJ was innocent or at least were happy to see him get off, he will probably be very popular in prison. You may be right about how the general population views him, but I seriously doubt that any prison - state, federal, local, doesn't take a person's notoriety into account. Ex-cops aren't left in the general population, and neither are celebrities. You're right about ex-cops and most prisons, but at the Federal level more times than not, his ass would be dumped in with everybody else. That would have to be clear at time of sentencing. OJ though of convicted is off to a Nevada State Pen and could easily end up in general population. That decision is up to the Warden. Of course, in California he would probably have a suite with 42" flat screen and side by side fridge.

And that along with the fact he left the cat to suffer is why I believe the guy fucked up. He won't do jail, but as the shrink suggested, he should pay a price.

Okay, do away with the animal cruelty laws. But what if the bullett went astray and struck a child in the head, still cool with you? Cats eat birds, that is natural, all part of that food chain business. A squirrel trying to aggressively to enter a Manhattan apartment, no so natural. I don't believe you would catch much heat from the law for killing an animal with rabies or in defense of yourself or child. What this guy did, was it animal cruelty or not? That's all it comes down to.

I had a similar reaction. I also felt that Washington's portrayal, despite his statements otherwise in interviews, probably made Lucas seem a little more likeable than he actually was at the time. Washington was far more convincing of a bad guy in "Training Day". I agree with the above opinions, although I will say, that at 2 hours and 40 minutes, it moved right along, and I found it very entertaining. The performance from Russell Crowe was surprisingly low-key. Some fine characters in the secondary roles, especially Ruby Dee. I did find the portrayal of Lucas' well-oiled operation very interesting. I think the "well-oiled" portayal was somewhat of a Lucas fantasy.

Well ok, that right there tells me that we're talking at least partially about different types of dance music. I know the type stuff that image conjures, and it's not for me, not at all. The stuff I've been getting into either doesn't have that heavy four-on-the-floor (broken beat is called that precisely because it doesn't have that - it's "beat" is "broken") or else has it, but not as the dominant factor. Well, okay, that makes more sense. I guess I am referring to the more common or older type of "house". The shit made famous at the raves. Good, for a minute there, I thought you lost your friggin' mind.

I'm still brave enough to try another listen, but it's the drum machines and visions of all those clowns bouncing around the dance floor that makes it all bad for me. Maybe not (or maybe so!), but I bet their kids do. (just as I didn't see Glen Miller fans getting all excited about James Brown....) Something to keep in mind, though, is that the type of House that I listen to (and I imagine Shrdlu as well) is not going to be heard on the radio, on MTV, on TV in general, or even "mainstream" clubs. This stuff is very specific to its own crowd, and unlike the ubiquitously booming bass beats of hip-hop, you're not likely to find it unless you go looking for it. Oh believe me, I found it and not willingly. I realize this is not the MTV stuff, but that doesn't matter, I still don't get it no matter what they want to call it today. Just to be on the safe side of my opinion, I'll sample a few of your suggestions and see if we're talking about the same shit.
