sorry dan, but i think that is bad and possibly dangerous advice. joe, i'm really sorry about what you're going through. keep in mind that if you own and train a dog for the purposes we've discussed, you could face a serious legal liability under some circumstances. i'm not saying you shouldn't get one, just check it out beforehand. for now and at the very least, you might want to go to the store (hardware?) and get some "this property is protected by the "acme" security company" stickers to put on the windows. it's cheap, and it's a deterrent for some thieves. it's quite possible that this was the same thief as before, since repeat break-ins are fairly common. it's also very likely that he's broken into other houses in your area as well. perhaps you and some other victims could get together with the community police officer and come up with some ways to deter/catch this guy. i hope it's just a (short) matter of time before the police arrest the guy. good luck. Those security stickers area good idea and to go one step further it is very inexpensive to install several motion detectors in your house especially if you can do the installation yourself. When the system is tripped it can be programmed to call your cell phone or if you prefer you can use a monitoring service to dispatch the police. I received this follow up email in response to one of those ads for an old dump truck. Am Sorry for not responding earlier, just got back from vacation. My client has agreed on the price and will send payment. i will make arrangement for a pickup agent. My client will send you a cashier check of $13,000. When you receive the check, deduct $4,000 for the Truck, the difference of $9,000 should be sent via Money gram transfer to the agent who will under take pickup, shipment and other expenses. This is actually a really good suggestion. It's amazing what they will do when a vote is on the line, plus it is their job to help. I know someone that called on a senator once to help get his mother assistance when she was in failing health. The state rejected her for coverage. The senator's office straightened it all out and she was accepted into the nursing home.

Conrad, sorry to hear about your friend and his problems. I have no answer to your real question, but have to agree with the moose here. I'd knock the shit out of the other dude. At the very least that would take him out of the picture and maybe make your friend's last few years a little better. If you want I can give you a 718 number and make that happen.
