  1. I hope it was a nice one.
  2. Now...., that was a baseball game.
  3. Stick a fork in Arizona, they're done. Cleveland still has a chance.
  4. Those were the good old days.
  5. Threw some king crab legs on the grill.
  6. I've never watched it, but I do like Tracy Morgan.
  7. Likely fallacious, Alex. Such stories get started and embroidered. Although it is possible if the grandmaster seriously overlooks the opponent, it really isn't likely. Most of the best chess hustlers are 1800-2200 strength, which is significantly lower than grandmaster level. My own rating is 2000, but I'm not good at blitz. Urban legends develop around how the local hustler was once able to beat a grandmaster, etc. It's likely bogus. Chess requires years of study to understand some of the technical aspects of the game. You just aren't born with such knowledge. The best geniuses were also well trained. Too many urban legends exist about these street hustlers. They are hustlers and hucksters; and they are definitely big talkers too. Hey Conn, which online sites do you play?
  8. ...and no Tony Gwynn.
  9. Shit, I missed it! Happy Birthday, TD, no matter what Mark may have said about you before.
  10. I don't believer there are any actual judges. It is entirely based on rating by consumers if I undestand this correctly. Plus, it pretty much focuses on micro breweries/craft beers only. About Us ateBeer is widely recognized as the most accurate and *most-visited source for beer information. RateBeer is an independent world site for craft beer enthusiasts and is dedicated to serving the entire craft beer community through beer education, promotion and outreach. RateBeer was founded in May 2000 by Bill Buchanan as a forum for beer lovers to come together and share their opinions of beer and breweries. Established and maintained by dedicated volunteers, RateBeer has become the premier resource for consumer-driven beer ratings, features on beer culture and industry events, weekly beer-related editorials, and an internationally recognized, semi-annual RateBeer Best competition. 11. Colorado had them both tonight.
  12. Larry, that Lockjaw was the shit, thanks for finding it.
  13. A Cubanelle pepper, potato and pancetta frittata.
  14. NO DANCING!!!! So, you are obviously not marrying Ren McCormick. That must be the case, 'cause he would never stand for no dancing. They tried to hold him back once, it was a hard fight, but in the end he won. And you know what he said? "Hey Hey! What's this I see? I thought this was a party. LET'S DANCE!"
  15. Predictions on Arizona and Colorado? Pretty soild pitching match up for Game 1, but I give the edge to AZ. As for the series, probably Colorado in 6.
  16. Are you playing records? I say this because you say "lots of Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Billie Holiday, and Duke Ellington". Three of the four do not have much if anything in the way of compostions, and one doesn't quite fit your 20s-40s theme, as she was not born until 1938. That aside, I doubt their is a wedding band around that can't play the tune she is best known for. Doesn't sound like you're going for anything original, so just let the band do it's thing. If they are as awesome as you think, I doubt they will have much of a problem keeping folks entertained. If you dont think the band is up to the challenge, I'd say dump them and hire Organissimo. When you hire them make sure you sign up for the Joe Gloss # 22 special. That will give you Joe and his twin-necked Steve Vai edition banez complete with lamp shade over Randy's head while doing a 28 minute drum solo and Jim Alfredson in bare feet instead of white socks.
  17. Well, Miller does have Peroni and Pilsner Urquell. Peroni and Pilsner Urquell are both very good beers, but I don't think of them as Miller products at all. But that's like saying General Motors makes Saabs. Not quite the same as their domestic brands, in either case. I agree.
  18. Well, Miller does have Peroni and Pilsner Urquell.
  19. Yeah, I never really got into them.
  20. Your baseball analysis has been shown to be lacking. Hope you are not in the forecasting business. Hm. I called the Rockies, D'backs and Red Sox. Gee, Skeith...3 out of 4 sounds like pretty good odds forcasting wise. Don't you think? I was reacting to your dis of Cleveland as well a your prediction of a Yankee win. You said that Cleveland was just happy to be there - Cleveland won its division - the Yankees did not. And at the end of the regular season, Cleveland tied for the best record in baseball with the Red Sox and goes without saying had a better record than either the Rockies or D'Backs - Cleveland with 2 potential Cy Young candidates - need I go on? So how you can say that Cleveland is just happy to be there is beyond me. OK. So I got one out of four wrong. Big deal. Sue me. Ok Look sorry, while I was a bit offended at your off-handed dismissal of the Tribe, I had initially meant for some of my comments to be a good natured ribbing of you. I see that they were not taken that way and things went downhill . I am sorry. No problem. It's tough to gage somebody when you can't see them face-to-face, ya know? I screw up that way all the time...it's a big club. Don't worry about it, OK? I think was GoodSpeak actually means here, is GO FUCK YOURSELF, IT'S ON!!!!
