  1. Brownie, I'm glad I didn't steer you wrong! I could no longer do a comparison, as I gave the JVC to my father in Ohio, but. . . I was pretty sure I would have kept the BEST sounding version.
  2. I'd love to read all those. Those pieces that I have read from this magazine are wonderful fun! But I've bought myself way too many expensive presents lately!
  3. -_- One day when I can just pull the trigger I'm gonna get this.
  4. Many more happy ones indeed!
  5. Be patient. . . . I spend months sometimes waiting to sell items and they sell over time. I'd certainly buy this if I hadn't bought it on the day of its release! A fantastic document!

    I Am Three

I thought that was pretty funny Never! Yes, as I have all the MBB cds, most of the others, I'll be getting this one~!
  7. Do we really need "Coke with Lime?" Looking around at all the office workers who are swilling cokes. . . I think what we need is "Coke with FIBER"!
  8. I've seen it twice as well. Rosario was twice as beautiful the second time around! And I remain impressed by the filmmaking represented here. . . . This is going to be a dvd to buy.
  9. http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...&cart=248502253 Looks as if it will contain "Round Midnight" from the Newport 1955 appearance, and the 1956 appearance in Pasadena by the Quintet!
  10. I bought the latest two "Yo Miles" two SACD sets.
  11. When a thread is "locked" it means that it is available for viewing, but no new posts may be added.
  12. These were premiumly priced here in the USA when first released as well; I don't remember specifically what I paid for mine, but it was probably over fifty dollars plus tax.
  13. Jazzhound, you're never going to convince ME. I use tapes of material I recorded in my garage apartment in the eighties of myself and several different groups of musicians playing to evaluate my system. I know the players, the room, the instrument, I was there while it was recorded. These are played back most realistically and accurately on the tube equipment I have, not the solid state equipment I have and have had. So talk on, I hear ya but don't believe.
  14. Maybe it's because they had those two sexy beasts on board. . . Pigpen and Donna Jean. -_-
  15. So when is Rooster Tie Records (I can see the logo in my head!) going to put this out so I can buy a copy? -_-
  16. Thank God for Uptown!
  17. When I had the domestic copy I really didn't notice much difference between the two.
  18. It is different: Hit the quote button, as many times as you want and when you have all the posts you want to quote selected, hit the add reply button.
  19. A Scanner Darkly is a wonderful book in its way! I was a little disappointed to learn of the animation-overlay of the upcoming movie too. But I would kid myself to say I was not gong to go see it.
  20. In some ways you can't miss. It's great. . .b u t it doesn't have a cohesive feel of "one show" that I really like, so I don't find myself reaching for it too often. But there's no reason to avoid it. Great sound and choice performances.
  21. mgraham, I think that an email to Chuck may be in order!
  22. "Stepping Stones" is due out as a reissue July 26! I haven't any news of the other reissues. . . .
  23. In Ethiopia I had a sandwhich snatched from my hand by a "kite" --a hawk of the area-- at an outdoor picnic like event! This was not an uncommon occurance. And those birds are big enough you don't argue with them.
  24. Well, I don't care any longer. Bo and Carrie. . . what a choice. I don't really care for either of them! Rock or country. . . not an exciting choice for me either!
