  4. Sam Noto has a few excellent releases on Xanadu, he was a very decent player. I think "True Blue" and "Silver Blue" are very satisfying listens--all players are excellent and they are good bebop jam records. Now Playing: Grateful Dead “Friend of the Devils: April 1978” 2024 box set, first show Excellent sound!
  5. My dachshund listening partner is sleepy this morning. After a day of rain there's a still, cool feel to this morning and sitting in front of the stereo is a great way to start the day. Now playing Disc 1, Xanadu 2 cd set. Al Cohn/Dexter Gordon "True Blue & Silver Blue"
  6. Holiday and Faulkner
  7. Robert Hunter “Tales of the Great Rum Runners” Deluxe Edition Rhino cd, disc 1

  17. Yes, different, non RVG, non McMaster mastering--mastered by Kevin Reeves. I like the RVGS (I have kept US and Japanese versions) AND I like this 2 cd set which sounds very good as well.
  18. I think the RVG cds sound really darned good on all the Monk and Monk/Jackson material. Possibly the very best digital sound of the Monk led sessions is on this two cd set: https://www.discogs.com/release/6474196-Thelonious-Monk-Round-Midnight-The-Complete-Blue-Note-Singles-1947-1952
