  2. Wayne Shorter “Celebration Volume 1” Blue Note cd, disc 2 780×520 37 KB
  3. Up late. . . my wife was worrying about our future kitchen, and the dachshund was having a rough time falling asleep. So I got in a bit of listening: Miles Davis “Someday My Prince” will Come Sony Blu-Spec CD2, 2023, mono disc 800×800 61.5 KB Followed by “Acoustic Masters I” Atlantic cd
  4. "Neil Swainson Quintet," Concord cd
  5. Both those sets are well worth having even if chances are you have quite a bit already in both.
  6. Johnny Holiday “Holiday for Lovers” Mode Records/Muzak Records Japan lp facsimile cd I had never heard this before picking up this Japanese edition. Holiday sounds like a cross between Ol’ Blue Eyes and the Man with the Gyrating Hips from Memphis. Some slightly whack trumpet solos here I really enjoy. Sound is excellent!
  7. There are two 2 cd sets called "Last Sessions" that have all star small ensemble recordings by Shaw that are wonderful.
  8. Right. I've seen those. Don't seem similar to me.
  9. Looks different to me than that. It's from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwion_Gwion_rock_paintings
  10. What really solidified my love for Lovano was his three Blue Note releases with Hank Jones. Boom. I became a big fan.
  11. “Kingfish” LP
  12. I listened to the Joe Locke again, warming the amp up after a short walk with Fiona the dachshund in the cool morning air. Now disc 1 of the 2 cd set from Blue Note, the late Wayne Shorter, first release from a series of material he collated before his passing, “Celebration.” A live show from Stockholm in 2014. Very nice.
  13. Joe Locke “Love is a Pendulum” Motema cd A well-recorded quartet album with Locke’s very modern vibe and vibes. 600×600 41.1 KB Featuring Joe Locke (vibes), Robert Rodriguez (piano), Terreon Gully (drums), Ricky Rodriguez (bass) plus special guests Rosario Giuliani, Donny McCaslin, Voctor Provost, Theo Bleckmann, Paul Bollenback
  14. Yes, she's sleeping nicely right now. But. . . it's still the twilight time for her I'm afraid. Nearly fully blind and deaf she demands a lot of my attention. . .and I'm giving it to her. I'm really going to miss her. She has literally been at my side for more than eight years. A great companion.
  15. A little warmer this morning. Beautiful outside. . . Fiona the dachshund and I had a nice walk, slow and leisurely. Starting off with some Moody, his last I think. Grammy winning release from James Moody. Just as nice as its companion release, “4A.” James Moody “4B” IPO Jazz cd
  16. I re-listened recently to the Time Records release. Was a great listen.
  17. “The Pepper Adams Quintet” Mode/Muzak Japan cd Pepper Adams – baritone saxophone Stu Williamson – trumpet, except track 4 Carl Perkins – piano Leroy Vinnegar – bass Mel Lewis – drums His debut as a leader! A nice relaxed session. 599×602 94 KB
  18. Yes. . . and this cd has three extra tracks.
  19. OMG that Shihab cd is hard to beat either in musical content or sonic quality. . . exceptional. Now, something different, onto the Bob Dylan “The Cutting Edge Collector’s Edition” box set, disc 4–all “Like a Rolling Stone.” By the end of this disc I can tell you how it feels.
  20. Sahib Shihab’s “Sahib’s Jazz Party” Debut/Muzak Japan lp facsimile cd Another cold morning! 21. Grateful Dead “Dead Set” disc 2 589×600 125 KB Followed by Duke Pearson “Angel Eyes” Jazz Line/Muzak Japan HQCD 600×600 92.8 KB
  22. It's possible that Mosaic may not have been able to obtain/ascertain the rights to the Sittin' in With material. Ownership seemed to be in the hands of owners Mosaic hardly if ever seemed to license from.
  23. Okay, is summer OVER? It’s downright cold this morning. Which is helping my poor old dog to settle down and snuggle in. . . she’s adjusting to being blind. . . slowly. Starting off with some excellent Chick Corea, solo Chick Corea “Solo Piano: Standards” Concord cd https://thekitchen.org/event/george-lewis-the-kitchen-improvises-1976-1983
