  6. There was no need for the AC unit nor fans last night–and two humans and one dog were very happy about that! A bit muggy this morning but nice! Starting the day off with two albums from this two cd set, “Conception: the Gift of Love” and “Un Poco Loco,” both Columbia releases.

Robert Parker/Jazz Classics in Digital Stereo “Duke Ellington – Swing 1930 To 1938” cd I found where I had placed about 18 of these “Digital Stereo” re-workings of classic earlier jazz and chose this one to listen to today. 16. This month when I turn on my stereo in the morning it’s an exciting first few minutes as the sound struts out. The system has never sounded better! Music is a thrilling component of the day. Right now “Duke Ellington in the Uncommon Market” OJC cd 893×768 87 KB Not your typical Ellington concert (actually excerpts of three concerts, one in Sweden, one in Italy, and one in France) of rarely played material. Waking my brain up!

  18. Andrew Hill “Passing Ships” Blue Note Tone Poet LP 1
  19. On the Hoffman board there have been reports of shipping notices received. . . . I'm eagerly awaiting mine, but I always seem to get one after others have received the set or never get one and receive the set later than others. I think it may be because I pre-pay with PayPal.
  20. Thelonious Monk “Brilliant Corners” Analogue Productions LP
  21. Grateful Dead “Blues for Allah” LP
  22. Santana “Welcome” Columbia LP
  23. Earl Coleman “There’s Something About An Old Love” Xanadu LP Ted Dunbar is a highlight here as he always is.
