Took a while to get cool last night! But it is pleasant now. I’ll enjoy the cool while I can–it is due to be scorching this week. Starting off with a box set I pulled from the back row of one shelf. The Complete Riverside Recordings of Bill Evans, cd 4 Trio with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian, and part of the Quartet with Cannonball Adderley, Percy Heath and Connie Kay. Early digital, remastered by George Horn, sounding quite nice.

I'm nearing 69. . . I've had conversations of this nature with my wife. I only listen to physical media, so I'm inclined to just hang on to it all as long as I can. It seems if I don't take care of my collection big dumpsters will be in our driveway and pitching will begin. I'm undecided what is my best course of action or inaction.

Monday Michiru “Tomorrow’s Sunrise” remixes from “Optimista” cd Just talked with my brother Les and the three stents are doing well and he sounded tired but GOOD. He will probably be going home tomorrow. His wife is a surgical nurse. . . he'll be in good hands. What a relief.

Well I think this is not a Pass leader date, nor a quartet date, and it's perhaps not a studio date.

Ryan Truesdell: “Centennial: Newly Discovered Works of Gil Evans” ArtistShare cd Jazz History Online – 5 Mar 19 Ryan Truesdell: "Centennial: Newly Discovered Works of Gil Evans"... Released to coincide with Gil Evans' 100th birthday, Ryan Truesdell's new album Centennial features ten previously unrecorded works by the iconic composer/arranger. Chris Coulter reviews both the album and a recent concert performance at the Jazz... Est. reading time: 4 minutes This is a gorgeous recording that will show off your system wonderfully. And fascinating music. 600×548 55.7 KB Just the right thing for this morning after a beautiful wedding ceremony tinged with some sadness as the father of the groom, my brother, had a heart attack early yesterday morning, had three stents put in and is recuperating well, but he and his wife, who put so much into the preparation of this wedding, couldn’t attend. Sigh. At least he is doing well, thank all that is good. Lucy and I danced for about an hour. . . we’re sore this morning.

No, as soon as my wife is ready we are going to drive the 45 minutes to the family event (the wedding rehearsal and dinner of one of my nephews). I wish I could stay here and listen more. I'd rather not go. But duty calls.

Monday Michiru “Look Into The Past (To See The Future) 2 (Non-Stop Mixed By Kaoru Inoue)” Perhaps my favorite of her earlier remix releases. 1200×1200 78.6 KB

Last chance to listen to music before a family event. I love “More Jobim Jazz” by Mario Adnet on Adventure Music cd as much as its predecessor, “Jobim Jazz.” Sounding very good today.

What is the most valuable Mosaic box release?
jazzbo replied to scooter_phx's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
I paid the most for the three Commodore sets, though I got a great deal buying all three, previously unplayed, at once. They were somehow lacking the books, but I had bought those from Mosaic at 10 dollars a pop a few years beforehand. I value these sets HIGHLY. Just amazing music, in excellent sound. -
