  1. Ricardo Grilli "If on a Cold Winter's Night a Traveler". I believe this is his first. He came out of the gate strong.
  2. "The Complete Atlantic and EMI Recordings of Shorty Rogers" Mosaic Records, disc 1
  3. I still have received no notice, nor a response from an email query about that. Going to be such a great set.
  4. Don Ellis "How Time Passes" Candid/Solid Records Japan, mono cd
  5. When I first moved from Ethiopia to Swaziland and entered Waterford-Kamhlaba School, which was run by Sir Michael Stern (not Sir then) I lost points the first semster, considerable points, for my spelling--"or" instead of "our" and "er" instead of "re" etc. so much so that I was in the middle of the class at the end. That jolted me--I had never been anywhere but at or near the top of a class. So I reluctantly reversed all my American spelling, and was at the top of the class by the second semester. And then when I came back to America I had to reverse that spelling, but it was easier that way around!
  6. Louis Hayes/Junior Cook Quintet "At Onkel Po's Carnegie Hall, Hamburg 1976" disc one Surprisingly vivid sound and Woody Shaw is really "on." LONG performances.
  7. SFJazz Collective "Inaugral Season" disc 3 Compositions by Ornette Coleman and Original Compositions
  8. Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi "They're Calling me Home" This one is quite good. I love this woman.

  11. Got my second dose of Pfizer on Friday. Hit me harder than the first. . . sore arm, stiff shoulders and neck and fatigued for two days. Better today. My wife who got both shots right alongside me was VERY tired Friday, which she took off, and yesterday, but she does sleep a lot on the weekends--she's still working.
  12. SFJazz Collective "Works of Horace Silver and Original Compositions" disc 3
  13. This one again. . . I got a chance to spin a few cds and this was already queued up and it sounds so good! Eliane Elias "Kissed by Nature"
  14. Yeah me too. It might be because I used PayPal--several times before I've had to ask them to look for my order when I've used PayPal. I like to use it though, I'd rather pay when I order.
  15. Started off with this one again after getting my second Pfizer shot this morning. This live stuff is comforting and always intrigues me with its charm.
