Starting off a fairly warm morning–36 degrees–with a bit of Brazilian breeze, Eliane Elias “Dance of Time” Concord cd. Ms Elias is such a fine piano player. And this is a very modern recording, full and rich. I had a nice dinner last night with the older of my two brothers who is undergoing a crisis I have the experience to help him with–I admit it was nice to be the older brother giving advice and a listening ear.

No commercial on this edition. And there are three seasonal songs, one Dexter alone, one as a medley to conclude the recording.

Duke Ellington “Jazz Party (In Stereo)” Columbia Jazz Masterpieces LP This is the only stereo LP I have of this title, and though it doesn’t quite match the sonic majesty of the OG Mono LP I have, it does sound pretty darned good for an LP that is probably digitally sourced (and early at that). Such magnificent music and such a masterfully engineered album. One of these days I’ll seek an early pressing of the Stereo title to partner with my Mono copy.
