Whew it was a warm one last night. Finally got cool, down to 62 degrees, perfect up here in the listening area. This is an amazing reissue that arrived two days ago. The Plangent Process restoration is amazing–and blows away the Grundman direct transfer. I wish they had not included that one and had included a Plangent Process version of the MONO mix, I love the Mono mix. I thought I knew and loved this session–now it’s taken to a new level! Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto “Getz & Gilberto” Impex Records SACD 2025 Followed by another new arrival, “Enjoying the Ride,” the 60th Anniversary box set from the Grateful Dead. First concert I pulled out, Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, CT (3/14/81), disc 1

Cold start to the morning, but I’m getting used to that. Other parts of the nation are having heat waves. . . . Starting off with Miles Davis “Miles '54 (The Prestige Recordings)” 2 cd set, disc 1 This is my second copy of this set as my first copy had a defective track. I have this material several other times elsewhere but I really enjoy the Paul Blackmore transfers Concord has been using, they sound excellent. The '55 recording set is due out soon.

It is COLD today, for May. My listening schedule has been morphing lately as with the passing of my dog I’ve been waking up later and my wife has been waking up earlier and I don’t now generally get to dive into listening first thing. Today we got to meet with one of Lucinda’s sisters and brother-in-law who live about 90 minutes away here locally for lunch, which was really nice. Lucinda’s sister Ann has been blind about 20 years and her husband Chris is the role model of a loving spouse and takes incredible care of her while also having a demanding job. I love these people. Now I’m finally in front of the main system. I started off with Keith Jarrett “New Vienna” ECM cd and moving on to Tom Harrell “Moving Picture” High Note cd

I don't think that way, not in agreement, at least in thinking it's great that it works that way. 'S alright. You be you.

Still feel the same way. If anything that is what is NOT great in the art world. IMO.

Dave Burrell “High Won, High Two” Freedom/Muzak lp facsimile cd A two LP set on one cd. Very interesting sessions that would sound better if a better piano had been utilized. Bass – Sirone (Norris Jones)* Drums – Bobby Kapp, or Sunny Murray Liner Notes – Stanley Crouch Piano – Dave Burrell Tambourine – Pharoah Sanders 200×200 64.8 KB

No, I don't feel that is what's great.
