  1. This is a great compilation. And I don't like compilations. Bob Dylan "Make You Feel My Love: Love Songs of Bob Dylan" Sony Blu-Spec CD2
  2. Charles Mingus "Mingus Ah Um" Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD
  3. Dizzy Reece "Star Bright" Blue Note Japan 80th Anniversary cd reissue.
  4. Blue Mitchell "The Thing to Do" most recent Japanese Blue Note cd reissue.
  5. I used a slide rule when I was in boarding school in M'Babane, '68 to '71. That ad makes very good use of shades of blue.
  6. Don't know. Haven't had time to do any comparisons, and just had one listen, but it sounds as if it's one I haven't heard before. Less muddy. (Still not quite up to par with other BN releases). I have the US cd and the most recent previous Japanese. It will probably be a while before I can do any comparisons.
  7. Two new arrivals from Japan, both 80th Anniversary cd reissues from Blue Note. Jackie Mclean "Destination Out!" Followed by Bobby Hutcherson "Total Eclipse"
  8. I bought the LP when it came out. I've always liked it.
  9. Joe Henderson "The State of the tenor. Vol. 2" Blue Note Japan SHM-CD
  10. Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Harold Arlen Songbook
  11. Dexter Gordon "San Francisco '82"
  12. Finally made it through the rehearsals and am listening to the first show of the new Dylan box set. Still not my favorite period of Dylan by ANY stretch. . . really low on my list. But it's interesting to hear. Bob Dylan "The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings" disc 4.
  13. I may be a weirdo but I don't enjoy youtube or music on my computer so I'll pass on these videos. But I'll be collecting the duo recordings. .. have two more on the way.
  14. I have four cd versions and two LP versions of this title. I love this music. Today I am listening to the US cd mastered by Kevin Reeves released in 2007. Sounds very good with my current system set up. John Coltrane "Crescent" Impulse US cd. Followed by The multi-talented and beautiful Monday Michiru, one of her jazziest--Dave Kikoski really shines here. Monday Michiru "Episodes in Color"
  15. Bob Dylan "The Times They Are-A Changing" Mono SACD, Mobile Fidelity Lab I just adore "The Ballad of Hollis Brown," the highlight of this one for me. Followed by Ella Fitzgerald & Joe Pass "Take Love Easy" Pablo cd. Holy cow. I've ignored late Ella too long, she's amazing on this, and Joe delivers the goods!
  16. "Miles Davis at Fillmore" Sony 1997 20 bit LP facsimile cd edition.
  17. "The Chronogical Louis Armstrong 1937-1938" Followed by Stanley Turrentine "Aint no Way' blue Note EMI cd
  18. Good to read. Hope he continues to remain strong and independent.
  19. Watching/Listening to Sonny Rollins "In Vienne" a DVD of his 2006 Vienna appearance. Reminds me so much of a contemporaneous Rollins concert I saw in Texas. Great sound on this disc.
  20. Nothing. You're not the one confused.

  23. Great bargain if you're a Prime member, a good deal even if you're not--the Japanese Solid Records cd release of the Brooks Kerr/Paul Quinchette Quartet "Prevue" (with Gene Ramey and Sam Woodyard). https://www.amazon.com/Prevue-BROOKS-QUINICHETTE-PAUL-QUARTET/dp/B0189O4SS8/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Brooks+Kerr&qid=1560453817&s=music&sr=1-3
  24. I haven't heard this one. . . . I have the three separate big boxes released just prior to this one, and if this one has been remastered I bet it sounds wonderful, as I think most of the material in the boxes I have have not been recently remastered, and they sound great.
  25. Watching/listening. . . Charles Mingus Quintet "Montreux Jazz Festival '75" DVD
