A discussion on another forum about Paul Buckmaster's work with Elton John and others made me pull out his collaboration with Miles Davis. Miles Davis "On the Corner" Mobile Fidelity Lab SACD

Yes, threw me a curve ball with the quick end to the zombie menace, but I'm not displeased. I too took a long time to warm up to the idea of this series, and when I did start watching about four years ago I got hooked, but was quickly disappointed that so much of the energy was devoted to walking dead albeit with a difference or two. I just am not into zombies.

Official announcement finally up. Amazon.co.uk has the best price. https://www.bobdylan.com/news/bob-dylan-the-rolling-thunder-revue-the-1975-live-recordings/

I've always thought those were the legs of the two Lions but I am not sure I ever read that anywhere.

Interestingly this has been reissued on cd at least twice officially from Japan, and at least once from the gray marketers in Europe, and there are probably many more cd copies out there than LP copies! An interesting session.

Looks like Ozzie on the cover to me. Maybe Jerome took the picture.

Nah, he was a full-blown young adult when he started recording at his parents' and had a control booth built in; I bet Mom and Dad were not around when he recorded. I bet coats and shirts may have ended up draped over chairs or in a hall closet. I think different producers had different ideas about the recording sessions and the artists behaved accordingly. Savoy was probably a looser run ship than Blue Note! Alfred seemed pretty involved in everything and probably had musicians respectfully well-attired. I don't think Rudy ever married. I may be wrong. What a life.

Tom Jobim, "Matita Pere" AKA "Jobim" This fantastic recording from 1973 is beautiful. Stunning arrangements by Claus Ogerman, wonderfully conducted by Harry Lookovsky and performed by great musicians, Jobim's wonderful direction, singing and playing. . . . As time goes by I love this one more and more.

Was playing Rahsaan Roland Kirk "Now please don't you cry beautiful Edith" Verve Universal Japan cd. Now playing Antonio Carlos Jobim "Passarim" Verve Japan cd I used to like this Jobim, but now a decade or two later I get the nostalgic air, the excitement of new love late in life, and the sad grief in the words "dos bessos nunco mas"--those kisses . , . never more.

It was his parent's house. So that was his Mom's job. (I bet they were draped on a chair).

Duke Ellington - Intrinsic Explorations Of The 1960s
jazzbo replied to mjzee's topic in New Releases
There's always an interesting vibe and feel to any period of Ellington, and a "slop" that ripples in the band that I find appealing. I have the "Last Trip to Paris." Even in the end zone Duke was involved and trying to transcend. I need to get "Rough Jungle." -
Hank and Lee looked prim and proper on their Savoy covers. . . .

Not all is live, I have an early release that is studio. My guess is that this material will be previously unreleased "stockpile" items. -

Awesome! I have a handful of Condon LPs (including this one on Columbia). The Columbia original LPs sound fantastic!
