Me three! Decided it was a good time for a "Jazz Party." Love Jimmy Rushing's contributions to this one. But it's ALL good.

I give my girlfriend a break by also boring her by talking about ancient history. I've gotten stuck on "Secret Ellington (Songs from Saturday Laughter)" again lately. I really like this one, not even sure why, the music just fits my world.

PM on JRVGs. -
It actually IS a resolution of the main plot of the season, it just ended on a note that could lead to another season of "more of the same." It's a pretty good show, worth checking out.
-
The series creator has said that the final episode was written as it was when there was still a possible second season, at the insistence of the network. And he was quotes as saying basically one of the realities was real, and this new one at the end was, as you say, a third reality his mind had built. It was a fun ride.
-
That could be possible. The creator of the show said this ending was supposed to serve as an end to season one and a bridge to season two. I'm glad it ended though, I think the whole thing would have gotten tiring for another season and more. Because it was left open for another season, there is a lot of ambiguity, and there are several possible answers here and I think it's best to just choose the one that suits one the best.

Until I watch the last few episodes again, I'd say there's two possibilities. I favor the first, which is that the whole accident, dual realities, and the drug dealing conspiracy run by his superior and associate was just a big anxiety dream. I know that is in a way a cheap shot, but it's really the only answer that doesn't have weird dangling ends that don't really make sense. My gal thinks this next answer is the right one: he lost his wife, he invented the fantasy world of red/brown to have her still be alive, and he was so unsatisfied with that that he invented the whole fighting back against those who killed his wife in the red/brown world to get satisfaction and then retreated into a NEW delusion where his whole family can be together. Of course it could be something else. A nice wild ride. So glad they at least resolved it to this junction.

So what was going on? I'm still trying to figure it out. But it was a fun ride.

what are you drinking right now?

You're right, I have the wrong picture for it, I'm drinking from glass. Fine Chuck, you don't have to buy any water. I like it, and I drink it, and I don't feel bad about it. Your drink is using someone's water too. I drink a lot more water when it's good tasting like this. Like the carbonation too. Drinking more water is good for me. I don't drink alcohol or soft drinks. -

It's glass with a metal cap. I recycle. What resources are your drinks depleting besides your brain cells? -

Gerolsteiner mineral water, was on sale 1 buck a liter bottle, nice price. I like the bottle. -
They are cool sets. Just wish they had thought of doing them years before I had bought some of these discs 3 or 4 times! Did you get a "shipped from UK" message when you ordered the Weather Report box? I paid with paypal and didn't pay much attention to the final Pop Market page.
-
You're likely right about the Mingus box remastering John. I'll probably buy that box down the line, possibly at a cheaper price, just to have it all together, and especially if I hear that discs have been remastered. I do like these sets.

Music cdrs have some sort of difference, probably a menu code, that allows stand alone consumer component burners to use them; these can't use the data discs. They don't have copy protection, and apparently a small portion of each sale goes to compensate record labels and musicians. What are the chances that is administered properly? I haven't been doing much burning at all and just get Sony or Maxell blands for the drugstore or office supply store now. Haven't encountered many problems.

I ordered it. WTF. It will be nice to have the bit of bonus stuff and all in one place.
-
Yes, i remember paying big bucks for the Japanese double lp in the 'seventies, and then a pretty penny for the Sony two cd set. Great f'ing music.

Now there's a Mingus set. Nothing new that I can see. Maybe a new mastering of "Let my Children Hear Music" and "Epitaph?" http://www.popmarket.com/charles-mingus-the-complete-columbia-rca-albums-collection/details/26894981 Also a Thelonious Monk set. No mention of remastering. Looks as if it's just a reissue of what we had. http://www.popmarket.com/the-thelonious-monk-quartet-the-complete-columbia-studio-albums-collection/details/26894950 And a Weather Report set that includes the first six cds. This would be good if they're remastered. Looks as if it might be, and a few dribs of extra tracks. http://www.popmarket.com/weather-report-the-columbia-albums-1971-1975/details/26896190
