Wow, overall presentation different than the cds!

Ha! Got to the final disc of Rescue Me, Season 2, popped it in, started watching it. . . and didn't know what the heck was going on. Checked the disc. . . it's the final disc of SEASON 3 somehow put into this set! So I ordered another used Season 2, they're cheap. Too bad only Season 3 is on Blu-ray.

I love his work on this album and I'm glad you were his friend. That's a great album, sounds just how I like albums to sound too. I would have loved to have met all three of those guys at that time and beyond.

I've always loved this album,and haven't heard it in ages, but I was not prepared for the slamming sound quality that came pouring out of my speakers. This is one of the best sounding "non-acoustic" lps in my collection.

I had sold a lot of my Miles lps in the 'nineties. Glad I didn't sell this one.

Same here. I have known some of these recordings from the '70s. The Symphonic Variations are my favorite recording of the piece. I had it on a Supraphon lp and it was available on Nonesuch at the time. The recordings of the symphonies are from the early '70s and are not the same as the 2 disc sets offered on Amazon. When digital raised its head, Supraphon had Neumann do new ddd versions for the marketplace. The earlier recordings are superior. Just thought some folks might like to know what they have. Thanks Chuck, I've listened to the first three symphonies and enjoyed them.

I got mine Saturday. They "rescheduled availability" three times and asked me three times if I wanted to cancel, and I said "No." Finally it shipped.

I don't view this place as close to paradise at all, actually. I'll just bow out of these kind of threads in the future. I know there's lots of behind the scenes venom. And I know that a lot of attitude I see from moderators stems from that and also sometimes by humor that doesn't come across to me that way. I'll keep my complaints and annoyances to myself as best I can.

I picked this up because it was cheap and even included a copy of the cd, which I already had, and enjoyed. Two 180 gram lps in excellent sound!

To me this thread became what it is because Hans seemed to take so much offense that Soul Station mistakenly attributed the closing of the thread to him. He read attitude into it that I'm not sure Soul Station meant, and came back with attitude. Hans has every right to get upset, but I just understand why in this instance, nor for Larry to say "some search you made," etc. So I commented on that aspect of it and it took off from there. I've nothing more to say about this than I've already said, and I mean no offense to any on this thread, and have respect for Hans, Larry, Soul Station et al. . . . I admit to being a Libertarian in matters of bulletin boards, but I do understand the need for moderators, though I do question that all threads have to be so tidy and no duplication can be allowed. But I'm not a policy maker, and haven't been asked to be one, and in the future I'll try to keep my opinions of these things to myself. My apologies if I've offended anyone here and I shall continue to strive to get along with everyone. . . in an improved fashion. In honor of RK.

Right, it just has the trio session. That would be the one I'm most interested in. I have all the other material on that set though. I'm doing okay K, been better, been worse.

Back to this one. My one complaint: a scratch on Spanish Key right out of the wrapper. Darn.

The downside appears to be that it's a losing battle with little appreciation given to the frustrated keepers of the faith.
