  1. Talking with my parents on the phone and my mon sounding much better, stronger and mroe energetic, than ever before this year. That operation to place a shunt in her cranial cavity to alleviate her Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus has really brought about improvement in mobility and congnitive actions.
  2. Y'know Alexander, Ali G may be brilliant, and brave. But I don't think he's funny! I realize others do.
  3. It's one thing for an artist to vow to not repeat himself and another for an artist to intend his audience to not revisit his past work.
  4. That's a fun movie. I haven't listned to the commentary yet, next time through.
  5. I may be in a minority but I really like this movie. This Blu-Ray version looks and sounds fantastic.
  6. I thought the first one was pleasant, but . . . I'm probably going to unload it, doesn't seem to have staying power with me. I'll pass on this new one.
  7. A lot of this release revisits this period. Many here don't like this but I like it, especially the contributions from Indian musicians.
  8. I actually have been known to chuckle at Syke's humor. Cohen's really doesn't do much for me.
  9. Well, I find all those listed here are cool and all, but I don't really reach for them to listen, I have dozens of Miles boots and allt he official recordings, and I listen to those more often. . . . I've been listening to the original recordings since their initial lp releases and they really mean something to me. Love that music and the music has influenced me in many ways, in the ways art can, just as the books of Philip K. Dick, Henry Miller and Simenon have, etc. Two of my friends have just released a cd on iTunes and cdbaby that takes the sounds of "Get Up With It" as a conceptual starting point, they're a guitar and trumpet duo named WD-41. They share digital effects and build soundscapes in a "He Loved Him Madly" sort of way. Their next rlease will probably incorporate another instrument. I like their work, you can hear the music at their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/wd41music
  10. I would. . . I will eventually. Only. . .Gina has it. I leant it to her gad nearly a year ago, and she keeps saying she'll bring it back, she's not going to watch it, no she'll keep it and watch it, no she'll bring it back, no she'll watch it. . . . I have Two, Three and Four in DVD (and Blu-Ray) but Gina still has One. . . . She's so sweet. . . but I may have to just demand it. . .
  11. Bentsy, if you ask the question, I'd say no it's not essential. If you're really really deep into this Evans trio, then of course yes it is, and you would be ordering rather than asking
  12. Paul Jeffrey: We See
  13. I waited a long time for this to hit Blu-Ray. Worth the wait, great sound and picture.
  14. I got my first order yesterday, complete. Never got an email confirmation or shipping email, but 'salright.
  15. Sent you a PM about an online availability
  16. Well, I don't have to go to the site. Oddly, I haven't encountered many other sites that I can't reach. I'm not going to make an issue of it with my provider or seek out others who may have the problem. Life's too short, don't need the site.
  17. No Wolf, that CJ sold the same day I believe. This might be an interesting read. . . but I've way too many books in large stacks waiting for me to read them.
  18. There a LOT of cds out dedicated to Monk tunes. There's dozens available on iTunes for example. I'll pick this up soon. I really like Broom, he was a highlight of the Rollins show I had the pleasure of seeing this year.
  19. Hasn't worked for me for over a year. AT$T.yahoo provider.
  20. Very clearly sir. Quite a nice statement!
  21. I've got quite a bit of Helen Forrest, she's fine. . . but I don't really need her work with Shaw at this point. Especially if it is going to add 3 or more cds to a large set Just being honest. There are other singers, not as nice to hear as Helen . . . .
  22. robert h, I heae these series the way you do. I'm a big fan of RVG and JRVG editions, and don't seek out the other Japanese series any longer, find them rather uninvolving. More for those who want them! The biggest change for me has been to build a flexible system. . . especially my speakers, I can tailor the high frequency output quite quickly and easily, and there's a "treble dampening" system added to my amp which is quite effective and quite a sonic achievement really. Really enjoying the chance to tailor the sound.
