  1. I wouldn't even be sure it's an error. . . could be a conscious design change.
  2. Hopefully you'll have yours today! Mine arrived unusually. . . fast. An EXCELLENT set.
  3. Good to know, Lon - thanks. But y'know, I've been about halfway through the list in the link posted earlier and, though I've found a dozen or so albums I want that are still around, frankly I just wan't getting a hard on over them. Except the Gonsalves/Eldridge. So, "fuck it," I said to myself, and went off to order half a dozen South African items from a Jo'burg firm, for about $8 each, inc postage. Now THAT was exciting! There are new David Newmans/Houston Persons/Jimmy Ponders/Maceo Parkers that I haven't been moved to order yet, as well. Fails to find smiley for shrugging shoulders elegantly... MG I totally know what you mean. I go through periods where I look at a bunch of cds and they don't excite me at all. A few months or a few years later and the opposite reaction might be inspired by the same list. Thank goodness for that for all of us too I say!
  4. Is one of the good ones (BeBop probably scooped it up last night).
  5. Hmm. . . I've never heard it, but sounds to me as if you should pass, you seem predisposed to not enjoy it.
  6. They had fixed it earlier!
  7. Hmmm. . . lately people are telling me I look like Jimmy. I may not want to get a Synchromatic after all.
  8. Anyone have any experience with the new Synchromatics?
  9. Media Dream seems to be out now. . . Dusty has it.
  10. Note to self: BeBop is here all week! That was a good one.
  11. I'm with you 100%. After seeing the movie a second time, I read the novel. Really the "current" novel I've most enjoyed reading in the last decade. Has the elements I've truly admired in the work of Jim Thompson, Jim Cain, Dash Hammett etc. and yet was totally its own as well. On top of that it grabbed and held an air that was truly Texan. Not an easy feat, and appreciated.
  12. arley-Davidson and Philosophy. Full-Throttle Aristotle. Edited by Bernard E. Rollin, Carolyn M. Gray, Kerri Mommer, and Cynthia Pineo
  13. Maybe Denise would like to think that Angelina is Brad's girlfriend but I believe they are married.
  14. I always love it. One of my desert island discs.
  15. I've got an empty brand new Coffin case. . . it's so weird to have a case and no guitar to put in! What I really wish I had was a hardshell case for my Ovation Breadwinner.
  16. I've recently added all three seasons of Lost, and the complete The Job, to my holdings.
  17. I have to say. . . I never have yet warmed up to those Bellson years recordings! I admit they're different, more energetic. . . but. . . I prefer those recordings with Greer then Woodyard. I have some (all?) of these on five volumes of CBS France cds "1947-1951" . . . so glad I have that series of discs! I paid dearly for them in the mid-nineties.
  18. That's my impression too Swede, stereo, two cd expanded edition. (Interestingly the actual tv performance used some of the recorded material but was mostly live). I asked Michael Cuscuna if Columbia or Mosaic planned on releasing this. His succinct reply was "No plans at this time." I would recommend the Jazz Track version of the currently available ones; it is a much nicer packaging than the CBS France cd and sounds better too. (Contains one additional track apparently used in the performance but not on the lp).
  19. I'm a fan. I have the Classics under her name and enjoy it. Hopefully I'll pull it out soon and spin it again!
  20. Yes, good arrangement and performance. Me, Buddy Rich, last two discs.
  21. I agree!
  22. Hey "stranger." You lucky dog, living so close! It's a shame there was so little response to the Manone/Prima. . .. . I remember pre-ordering that one when it was first offered. Nice little set! Can't wait for my Pres set to arrive! Probably. . .Monday.
