On a plane ride at the end of January, my wife and I sat next to a couple who coughed through the entire flight. They had masks on, but I still knew this wouldn't be good. We both started feeling bad within a few days, and were concerned it might be COVID. My wife went to the doctor and got tested. It wasn't COVID, it was parainfluenza, which is a different virus than the flu. She was told there was nothing to be done, she had to get better on her own. Indeed, she felt better in a few days. On the other hand, it lingered with me for about a month, and cleared up around the time I started experiencing seasonal allergies. As Rosanne Rosannadanna used to say, if it's not one thing, it's another. Feel better!
