  1. That sucks! I just got one from 'em a week or so ago...
  2. Last nite: Sam Rivers - Streams - Impulse! Stereo - sounds incredible! Great music... Gary Peacock - December Poems - ECM - US pressing sealed. Wonderful sound here, too... B-)
  3. Received and replied. Thanks, Paul. B-)
  4. Hmmm, don't think it came through, Paul. I'll give it some time, eh?
  5. Best wishes, Lazaro!
  6. Kevin, Some of 'em say Larry Walsh on the jacket, but when you look in the dead wax, it says "Wally." I know I've got one like that... I'm jealous of those 2, Kevin...especially "Blues In Trinity"...definitely a favorite... Hey, here's an idea: You keep the jacket in the frame...sell me the record! B-) ------ Oh, poop! I just won an LT-series "Slice From The Top." Took bad I can't find more of the "Wally's."
  7. PM sent re: McCoy Tyner: Asante - Blue Note LA 223-G Hank Mobley/Billy Root/Lee Morgan/Curtis Fuller: Another Monday Night at Birdland - Roulette/Fresh Sounds 52022 B-)
  8. Well, then someone over there sure know how to do an excellent needle-drop! Cuz I hear no wow & flutter...at all. B-) Thanks for the info, Kevin.
  9. Hmmm, are we sure about all this...? Heck, the copy I have sounds fabulous! Hmmm, I dunno, Kev...The ones I've seen new and sealed were the ones that started this thread and a couple others. They were priced $14.99 and some others $17.99. I'd say there right up there quality-wise with the Classic Records versions that cost $30 a pop! And they're gone! (I mean in general, not the ones that I spotted.) Shit, I just paid $25 each for the Leeway & Procrastinator Conn LPs just now that I found on the way home...they were opened, but mint...I tried talking to the guy, complaining about the price, and he said, "Cuz there so gone!" However, he did cut the price in half of the $5 Pete Townsend/Ronnie Lane Rough Mix lp I was getting... B-)
  10. Also used, but near mint: Osibisa - WOYAYA - a nice German pressing in beautiful shape. There is quite a bit of surface noise in between songs, but once the music starts it completely disappears! And the sound! Oh man, what sound! Incredible presence, and the tonality is just perfect. It's really wowing me... Have you guys ever discussed these guys before? Cuz they're a new discovery for me... B-)
  11. So far I've acquired: Lou Donaldson-Pretty Things Jackie Mac-Destination Out! Big John Patton-Let 'Em Roll Duke Pearson-Sweet Honey Bee All are fantastic! Maybe one more...I can't recall right now...
  12. Ooooooh, I'm so jealous... seriously... where's the "green with envy" smilie? This one, I guess? B-) I'd love to hear those... For real, if anyone knows where to locate any of these I'd be very interested.
  13. You'll be sorry... B-)
  14. New and sealed...At a local mom 'n pop store... $15 each + tax + shipping if interested... I have both already, though my SHB has a punch-hole, but is really just fine...I'm not that obsessive... So these are up for grabs! Who wants me to grab 'em for you ? Did I mention that these sound marvelous? B-)
  15. New vinyls the last couple days... Hank Mobley-Soul Station-Classic 200gm. Not bad at all... AEC-Fanfare for the Warriors-4 Men w/ Beards 180gm... That second to the last track on side 2 is a friggin' mind blower!!! :tup Stanley Turrentine-Common Touch-BN Rare Grooves reissue- Ron McMastered...sounds good! John Jenkins, Cliff Jordan & Bobby Timmons-New Jazz/OJC reissue; sounds good as well! Freddie Hubbard-Open Sesame-Classic 180gm. Awesome! Totally Awesome! Used but MINT vinyl: Keith Jarrett-Birth- on Atlantic. Nice... B-) ----- Shit...life is good!
  16. It kinda reminds of this cover, too...
  17. It looks even better in person...it's in perfect shape, was still in shrink...for $7.99, I couldn't resist!
  18. And hey, it's a pretty good record too! Great organ work and it's good to hear some good stuff from Houston Person. I remember being impressed with him when I heard him playing with Prince a couple years back. So here's a pic I just made from it, as I couldn't find one online, anywhere. Enjoy!
  19. Disc one of the J.J. Johnson set last night was an utter joy!
  20. Nice... I've heard good things about those German ECMs...I've got one Keith Jarrett (I forget which) and recall being quite pleased with the sound. !
  21. Yer gonna love it! I can't recommend this one...go for the Classic Records HDAD or DAD instead. Or the Classic Records 200gm MONO lp.
  22. New show added: miles davis septet 1973-11-15 - paris, france B-)
  23. I'm not really concerned with it. To me they kinda sounded like they were in a tunnel... I don't need to listen to MP3 cds...not when I wanna hear something really nice sounding...
  24. Yeah, but it seems to me that they sound kinda "wonky" as MP3s when listened to on my main listening system with the dvd player. (Data discs containing 7-10 cds worth) They sound better after being converted to waves and burned as a regular cd. IMHO.
