Thanks Rooster! Thanks couw/John!
-
And I just saw couw's "Destination Out" animated avatar too! Wow! Can somebody make mine do something cool like that? Maybe something explosive, considering the content of the album?
-
That is so friggin' cool!!! How the heck did you do dat? Awesome! Totally awesome!!! "The Flip" actually flips!
-
Well, that's pretty cool. Have you ever posted it for US to read? hint hint, nudge nudge... B)

Haven't seen the second one yet. My buddy has the DVD and keeps promising to bring it to me, but keeps forgetting... We saw the first one on the big screen and have since committed the entire film to memory after many screenings of our DVD copy of it. We will probably try to go see the third one on the big screen if it gets good reviews from fans of the series. Same with the last Lord Of The Rings when it opens. Are you going to the first or second screening grey? B)

That's sweeeeeet! B)

What store is it that lets you return perfectly fine, non-defective cds just because you didn't like what you heard? That's a very liberal return policy. I mean, I'm really sure I don't like Dylan's "Desire". Or maybe it's just that song "Joey". Oh shit, does that one stink to high heaven...?

Diana Krall...come on, don't be a hater

I just recently saw the "Live In Paris" dvd; from the libarary. Wow, this is really good stuff. The sound and video are top notch. I think I liked it from start to finish. I like her singing quite a bit; lots of nuances to her voice and phrasings. Her piano playing seems competent. However, I was blown away by John Clayton & Jeff Hamilton. They make it look so easy. It just falls from their fingers... Anthony Wilson was great too. All of her releases usually have impeccable sound. This Al Schmitt guy sure know his bidness... Some of the naysayers should give this one a look. B) -
Welcome to the party!

Uh oh...I really wish I didn't know that... That's gonna be tough to resist. Mini LPs =

So, what is better, Direct TV or the Dish????

I've been a Dish Network customer for several years, and it's always been great! Right now, I can get you a deal for a free 2room systems (one with a built-in Digital Video Recorder! ) with free premium installation, plus $49.99 off your first bill. For my referral, they will give me $60 bucks credit, spread over 12 months. I've got this system and have been totally happy with it's performance. Hell, you can even record the movies including their Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks, if broadcast that way. If interested, please PM me. Good luck! -
Blue Oyster Cult's "Don't Fear the Reaper"

The SACD multichannel mix of this song actually de-emphasizes the cowbell a bit. It's there, but kinda muted. Bruce Dickinson would be sooooo disappointed. -

Undergroundagent, Yes please! If you can locate them, I'd love one as well. Thanks. This would be totally B) ! -
John B/Mr. Furley, The same thing happened to mine a couple years back; not too long after purchasing it. I called the Sony quality control 800 number listed inside, and they sent me a new disc and an entire new box! You might get the glue off the disc this time, but it could happen again. Actually, I used the spare box to make someone else a copy; someone who would never be able to shell out for this set. I inserted a piece of paper down into the cd sleeve to hopefully cover the glue spot. Just FYI. Good luck!

Why I Don't Go To Bars (except to work)

Hey Boris! Suck a few necks for me... Digusting! -
I've got the one Free For All mentions, and it's quite good. IMO. I'm really hesitant about picking up this new one though. There was even a special on A&E the other night featuring the making of this album; I wonder if it's the same program as on the dvd "Inside Sacred Love"? The tunes just weren't grabbing me, not like his stuff usually does. I like all of his solo albums, pretty much but so far nothing that I've heard from this set has any type of the immediacy or hooks that his music usually possesses. I'm really trying to resist picking up the SACD. I wonder if I'll win...

You lucky dog! I'm sure you'll have no trouble getting some kind-hearted forum member to burn you a Disc 2. Enjoy! -
The two Larry Youngs on Prestige that kinuta mentions, the Jimmy Forrest set and others, the Bill Heid: all of these are available on emusic.com Thanks to the recs in this thread, I'm downloading all of those right now! B)

SS1 is: -
Hey, thanks everybody. It's good to know that I'm not alone. I've just got to learn to appreciate what I've already got, instead of constantly being on the hunt. I mean, how much have I absorbed that Keith Jarrett Live at the Blue Note 6 cd box? Or the Sun Bear Concerts 6 cd box. And I just HAD to have 'em... I really enjoyed reading everyone's perspective and methods on this topic. Lots of food for thought. But then, Red Trumpet said my Dylan box set shipped yesterday! Whoo Hoo!

That's great! He does sound like the record is skipping sometimes...

SS1, With my account, I've downloaded so many albums, but have only burned selected ones. I'm nearly done re-downloading albums in the new VBR Lame encoded versions now available on most titles. But they're probably taking up 20-25 GB of my hard drive, so I'm also in the process of archiving the MP3 files to cd as well; 7-10 cds worth on one cdr. This is rather time-consuming and tedious as well. Well, it can be, especially if you end up combining several different artists onto one cdr. I'd like to regain some disk space, and would hate to lose them if something bad happened to my PC. But you're certainly free to do whatever you like with them. If you burn them to a regular audio cd, sure you could delete the mp3 files. But you could also back up the mp3s to cd as well, so you'd never have to re-encode them again. I've got more music now than I could possibly ever listen to, much less really get to know... Quite a predicament...but when I finally stop buying so many cds all the time (gee, when will that be...?) I'll have plenty to listen to and discover. Man, sometimes I wonder if I'm a music fan, or a just a music collector? And if so, how and when did that happen? Hopefully, it's just a phase.

Wow, is that just opening it? With a little modulation, I'm sure you could get in at least 3 full choruses...
