  1. Thank you couw!
  2. That's great to hear Chuck. Way to go guys! I really wanted to purchase mine straight from you, but this was such an incredible deal, I couldn't pass it up. I hope it doesn't make too much difference as to what you net.
  3. And most are available on emusic.com, FYI.
  4. Oops, Chuck posted while I was typing. Thanks again Chuck. Ericka is just beautiful. The entire set is breathtaking. Hell, you can even feel the "room/s".
  5. So what did you get? Or what did she give you? Or, is that just none of my business? pryan, I ended up purchasing the Green and Weston Selects. (Love the Weston; especially disc 3. The Green hasn't grabbed me yet, with a couple listens.) My bonuses - AND I DO MEAN BONUSES were Chuck's AEC box and The Eminent JJ Johnson, Vol 1 RVG Editon. (I actually ordered Vol 2, I'm pretty sure, but received this one; no big deal, I had neither.) If I can decrypt your post, Erica is not my wife. That would be my Shelley, Shellebelle, Shellesberry Pie, Shellfish, Shelleybellybaby...I'm sure you get the picture... But, she did give me the gift certificate that enabled this purchase. (I had to add $52...). Thanks to everyone, and especially Chuck, for the recommendations of the AEC box. I'm very glad I got it. "A To Erica" is my favorite track from it, so far. Not sure my wife is very glad I got it though... The "outside" stuff is hard on her. Some of it, she says, is so far outside, it's out in the forest!!! But she's really the greatest... But hey, this leads me to something else: This is the second time she's gotten me a Mosaic gift cert for a gift. Is it just me or.... I think Mosaic really needs to consider updating the way they handle gift certificates. They're not electronic, in any way. They are a paper gift certificate, signed by Cindy at Mosaic. So, wife orders one online; pays with a credit card. They charge 10 freakin' dollars to send it to me, which took a week. Then my order, which was valued at just over 150 dollars, required 12 freakin' dollars to ship. And, it took 3 freakin' weeks to arrive!!! (After I mailed in my order; YOU CAN ONLY REDEEM THE GIFT CERTIFICATES BY MAIL) Much different than just ordering a set online by credit card, which have arrived to me in about 3-5 days, including a weekend! So 22 bucks went toward shipping for this whole deal. I mean, yes, I realize their shipments are insured; good thing the mail didn't lose the gift certificate when I mailed it for 37 cents. This just irritates the shit out of me! I haven't done it yet, but I'm gonna email them about improving this aspect of their operation. And I've instructed Shellebelle to just create her own little "Mosaic" gift cert for me, and I just order the sets online with a credit card. "end of rant" B)
  6. Better get on it guys! Tomorrows the last day... A To Erica... B)
  7. Gee, I wonder if they're different in Germany Aggie87 because mine is not a flimsy cardboard box. It's a very sturdy hard box I would liken to the box on the Stevie Wonder "At The Close Of The Century" set. Or the Monk Columbia Years 3 cd set. The music is groove-laden. And I'm really quite impressed with the sound too! Big on this set.
  8. I'm at 27.3 Shit, tell me something I don't know... I gotta get on the Precor...
  9. Greg, you B-Boy you!!! B)
  10. That's just perfect Stefan! Totally know what you're saying Conn500. That irks me as well. My trouble is I usually find these after the BIN option is gone, because of a stoopid bid.
  11. It's getting hot in herre...so take off all yo' clothes... Hey Jim: Don't you mean "Donkey Dix"? B)
  12. Oh yeah, that definitely qualifies. You must have been as happy as a little girl! Hell, I probably would have downright SQUEALED with delight. Awesome score. B)
  13. Nice price there at True Blue. On all the RVGs. But you should definitely grab the Mr. T/3 Sounds at that price. Cuz I think it normally lists for $27.
  14. Hoppy Birthday Lon! Or Happy, whichever. Enjoy!
  15. No kidding Rooster? That's too bad. I guess it's pretty humid down in K.C. I grew up in Tulsa and I'm sure my set would be doing the same if I still lived there. It must really have a lot to do with the amount of humidity one's environs. Got a pic? Thanks for posting your pic Vibes. This set is really great music wise. One should not be put off by the packaging. I've got all the other boxes as well, except the Riverside which I have all the individual albums.
  16. Tony, this is an indispensable set. I'm sure you can find it used; I found mine for around the same price as Vibes, around $175. It hasn't changed a bit since I bought it. The music? Well, I love so much of it. There's the set with Stan Getz and Elvin Jones! Some cool in between song chatter on that session. A set with a symphony orchestra that has a vibe about it that I really dig. There are lots of live sets, with numerous unreleased tracks from the live sets with Chuck Israels and Larry Bunker or Philly Joe Jones in California, from 65 and 67 respectively, I think. I like the Trio '64 and '65 albums and you also get both of the overdubbing experiments: Conversations With Myself & More Conversations. The Montreaux set from '68 previously mentioned is a classic set, where they had the audience in the palm of their hands. Also a few rare albums, probably only available on imports. Bill Evans Trio at Town Hall, with the wonderful solo medley subtitled "In Memory Of His Father". Oh, also the album with Jeremy Steig. It's 18 discs, but a really great set. The booklet is great too. Several different points of view offered. One of my favorites. But then, Bill Evans is one of my favories; everything he played was always beautiful. The sound... Wow vibes: your set has quite a bit of rust. Does it come off on your hands? Mine sure doesn't. Dry as a bone...
  17. Here's one more, of the inside. It's perfect! No rust at all.
  18. I've been considering this thread for a while now. Occasionally, I'll see posts that complain about this box set, specifically it's packaging. Mine is in pretty much the same condition as it was when I bought it used. The amount of oxidation (or rusting) hasn't increased much, if at all. I wonder if it's because of the dry climate here in Colorado. People always say stuff like "be careful not to get rust all over your hands, etc.". It's just not that way with mine, so I'm intrigued. So, I would love to see pics of your set and your thoughts. Here's mine:
  19. I love this show, but my wife get annoyed by it. She says, " He's such an asshole!" Man, he just won't let shit slide you know. He's always got to push it. Cracks me up!
  20. I remember the first time I heard this set, I though Miles must have been drunk! As Tony said, once I got past those initial "blemishes" it really opened up for me. Endless possiblilites in this set...
  21. Nice post Free For All. B)
  22. Jump in anywhere! I agree that this set hits me differently almost every time. But the rewards are there, you just may not hear them on first listen...or second... B)
  23. Have you checked eBay? There are a ton of Mosaics that were just recently listed by one seller. Some are getting quite a few bids, some aren't. Check it out...
  24. MD Quintet 65-68. Blazing a trail...outstanding compositions...This band could just beat the shit out of every other band (IMO).
  25. We used to get those digital artifacts (pixelization) from our dish, but it has really improved a lot since then. Usually on really dark scenes. I think it also may have to do with the type of tv you use. We have a 41" Toshiba widescreen projection tv. Some friends who have the same system we do never had these image problems on their Sony Trinitron picture tube tv. Hopefully Greg, you can customize a "favorite channels" guide within your Program Guide to list only the channels you enter into it.
