That's great! He does sound like the record is skipping sometimes...

SS1, With my account, I've downloaded so many albums, but have only burned selected ones. I'm nearly done re-downloading albums in the new VBR Lame encoded versions now available on most titles. But they're probably taking up 20-25 GB of my hard drive, so I'm also in the process of archiving the MP3 files to cd as well; 7-10 cds worth on one cdr. This is rather time-consuming and tedious as well. Well, it can be, especially if you end up combining several different artists onto one cdr. I'd like to regain some disk space, and would hate to lose them if something bad happened to my PC. But you're certainly free to do whatever you like with them. If you burn them to a regular audio cd, sure you could delete the mp3 files. But you could also back up the mp3s to cd as well, so you'd never have to re-encode them again. I've got more music now than I could possibly ever listen to, much less really get to know... Quite a predicament...but when I finally stop buying so many cds all the time (gee, when will that be...?) I'll have plenty to listen to and discover. Man, sometimes I wonder if I'm a music fan, or a just a music collector? And if so, how and when did that happen? Hopefully, it's just a phase.

My musical front door

Wow, is that just opening it? With a little modulation, I'm sure you could get in at least 3 full choruses... -
What do you guys read on the toilet?

I've never quite understood this practice. I head for the bathroom, WHEN I'm ready to go. I take care of business, and I'm outta there. It's not like I have to coax it out... you know "Please come out of my butt"! Oh, and I cannot believe we're discussing this...are you guy's bored, OR WHAT!?! -
Hey you guys, The best price for the complete box is at redtrumpet. Rick there is active at the Steve Hoffman board and has offered an additional discount throught that board. They are offering the set for $191, but if you add the words "Great White Wonder" to the "Comments" box during your checkout, they will subtract an additional $1 per title, so an extra $15 off to make it $176. That's what I did, just Wednesday night. The discount doesn't show up on the checkout, but you WILL receive the discount by the time they charge you. They've shipped initial orders but have sold out of their initial stock; more is arriving next week. So I'm patiently waiting... Go get 'em... Oh P.S. Plus, you get free shipping!

Thanks couw! That's EXACTLY what I had in mind. Very cool. I think I'll make that one MY cover for this disc. BTW, I'm on the fence on buying this, because I have the Mosaic, but if everyone raves about the sound, I might get it. Though I'm real happy with the sound on the Mosaic. Is it just me, or does the sound on the Mosaic on the "Talkin' About" session just kill the 20bit remaster or what? I prefer the earlier mastering job over the reissue. That guitar on "People" just stands out to me more. Love it...puts ME in that "other place". B)

And I had always hoped the new Mother Ship cover would make use of this photo, from the Mother Ship session. He's in that "other place"!

Never noticed a problem with the sound on this one. Perhaps I'll give it a spin today... I recall the music as nice, but not groundbreaking. But, I'm not the best at picking stuff out on the first couple of listens...

SS1, I can probably help you with the Avery software. Maybe we can chat this weekend. It works great! Later!

Pretty Pathetic, Considering Its From Blue Note

I've always heard about the "Booby" thing, but have never seen it. What issue was that misspelling on? -
I like Standard Coltrane. Nice vibe to this session, with Wilbur Harden, I think.

Our Krups goes into a thermal carafe, which I really like. I think it helps maintain good coffee flavor, as opposed to resting on a burner. It makes 2 to 10 cups. It's stainless steel too; matches our kitchen appliances.

That's great to hear Chuck. Way to go guys! I really wanted to purchase mine straight from you, but this was such an incredible deal, I couldn't pass it up. I hope it doesn't make too much difference as to what you net.
-
And most are available on emusic.com, FYI.

Oops, Chuck posted while I was typing. Thanks again Chuck. Ericka is just beautiful. The entire set is breathtaking. Hell, you can even feel the "room/s".

So what did you get? Or what did she give you? Or, is that just none of my business? pryan, I ended up purchasing the Green and Weston Selects. (Love the Weston; especially disc 3. The Green hasn't grabbed me yet, with a couple listens.) My bonuses - AND I DO MEAN BONUSES were Chuck's AEC box and The Eminent JJ Johnson, Vol 1 RVG Editon. (I actually ordered Vol 2, I'm pretty sure, but received this one; no big deal, I had neither.) If I can decrypt your post, Erica is not my wife. That would be my Shelley, Shellebelle, Shellesberry Pie, Shellfish, Shelleybellybaby...I'm sure you get the picture... But, she did give me the gift certificate that enabled this purchase. (I had to add $52...). Thanks to everyone, and especially Chuck, for the recommendations of the AEC box. I'm very glad I got it. "A To Erica" is my favorite track from it, so far. Not sure my wife is very glad I got it though... The "outside" stuff is hard on her. Some of it, she says, is so far outside, it's out in the forest!!! But she's really the greatest... But hey, this leads me to something else: This is the second time she's gotten me a Mosaic gift cert for a gift. Is it just me or.... I think Mosaic really needs to consider updating the way they handle gift certificates. They're not electronic, in any way. They are a paper gift certificate, signed by Cindy at Mosaic. So, wife orders one online; pays with a credit card. They charge 10 freakin' dollars to send it to me, which took a week. Then my order, which was valued at just over 150 dollars, required 12 freakin' dollars to ship. And, it took 3 freakin' weeks to arrive!!! (After I mailed in my order; YOU CAN ONLY REDEEM THE GIFT CERTIFICATES BY MAIL) Much different than just ordering a set online by credit card, which have arrived to me in about 3-5 days, including a weekend! So 22 bucks went toward shipping for this whole deal. I mean, yes, I realize their shipments are insured; good thing the mail didn't lose the gift certificate when I mailed it for 37 cents. This just irritates the shit out of me! I haven't done it yet, but I'm gonna email them about improving this aspect of their operation. And I've instructed Shellebelle to just create her own little "Mosaic" gift cert for me, and I just order the sets online with a credit card. "end of rant" B)

Better get on it guys! Tomorrows the last day... A To Erica... B)
-
Gee, I wonder if they're different in Germany Aggie87 because mine is not a flimsy cardboard box. It's a very sturdy hard box I would liken to the box on the Stevie Wonder "At The Close Of The Century" set. Or the Monk Columbia Years 3 cd set. The music is groove-laden. And I'm really quite impressed with the sound too! Big on this set.

I'm at 27.3 Shit, tell me something I don't know... I gotta get on the Precor...
-
Greg, you B-Boy you!!! B)

That's just perfect Stefan! Totally know what you're saying Conn500. That irks me as well. My trouble is I usually find these after the BIN option is gone, because of a stoopid bid.

It's getting hot in herre...so take off all yo' clothes... Hey Jim: Don't you mean "Donkey Dix"? B)
